A few months ago I made a thread and let you all vote if you would like to have a candle ceremony on VMK for those we have lost- we all agreed it would be a nice way to remember everyone. Since then, more changes have been happening in the world and sadly, we've lost more people as well. In their memory, we will have a short ceremony for everyone and anyone to attend. There will even be a time where everyone has a chance to say something for their loved one. I appreciate any help you are willing to give.

Each ceremony has a program. The speaker will welcome everyone and start the program with a speech. Once done, the speaker will allow you all to line up and say something about your loved one if you like. Then you will head back to your seats and wait for everyone to finish up, and the speaker will give a closing statement which is the que for you to either leave, or stay and chat with others.

What help do you need?
I am looking for someone to help with a weekend ceremony or those I am not able to attend. To do this you will have to be able to read a quick script and let others say things they would like by lining up at the candles and when done, sitting back in their seats for the closing. If you would like to help just leave a post and I will PM you with what you need to do.

When will the ceremonies be?
Wednesday, August 23rd @ 4:00 EST Search milkabum
Friday, August 25th @ 1:00 EST Search milkabum
Saturday, September 2nd @ 2:00 Search milkabum (if not, look for Mcat)
Monday, September 4th @ 4:00 EST Search milkabum

Do I need to bring anything?
Yes you do. You should bring a Haunted Mansion Ballroom candle which will be placed in the room during not just your ceremony, but others as well. Any colours are great, ou can even make them symbolize something of the person you are there for. For example, I will place a red candle down for Lucky, my cousin's dog, because his collar was red. These are availible at Shrunken Ned's shop.

If you are coming, please post that you are and which date. Each candle ceremony has 12 seats availiable and we will keep doing the ceremony so everyone gets a chance. We need at least 6 people per ceremony to make it happen, if not, it will be combined with another ceremony or reshelduled so more people can come.

Before the ceremony:
  • Please refresh so your chances of crashing or getting disconnected is low.
  • Make sure you have your candle.
  • If you would like to say something for that person, think about what you'll say.
  • If you are helping please review the script and procedure.
During the ceremony:
  • Listen to the speaker, no talking will be allowed during the ceremony. However, emoting is alright.
  • If you would like to say something about your loved one, please wait until the speaker allows you to do so. When doing this please start a line in front of the candles.
  • Try not to move around, it will distract others and the speaker.
  • No asking to trade while in the room. Please, if you must, do so when you leave the room.
  • If there is any problem, please wave. The speaker will stop to give you help. However, any questions must be held until the end.
After the ceremony:
  • After saying something about your loved one, do not leave. Head back to your original seat and wait until everyone is done. The speaker will give a closing statement and then you may all chat or leave.

Thanks and I hope you consider coming!

I will come to the August 23rd ceremony.I would like two seats one for me and my sister (Mcat and BdogBdog) I can help for the ceremony

Awesome :) I'll get working on the script and finding out if we can say them. Do you want to help with a weekend ceremony?

How about September 2nd, a ceremony at 2:00 EST?

it's a lovely idea, although i'm going on vacation, so i'll wait to see the september schedule (if there is one). although i luckily haven't lost a loved one yet, i would like to attend a ceremony (if that's all right).

That is a good time I will just need one seat for my sister

I can probably make the August 23rd one. I would also like to make a ceremony for a loved one of mine.

Hold on, what do you mean by making a ceremony? You would like to host one?

And if all goes well there will be a September ceremony. You don't need to lose a loved one, you may put a candle there for a sick family member, a pet, or someone you know serving in the middle east.

I can make and/or help with the September 4th at 4:00 because that's Labor Day and I am off from work. I am also available for the weekend ones in September, as yet TBD. I'll need two seats, one for me and one for my husband (Sclim on VMK). Thanks for organizing this.

No problem :) The seats are starting to fill up. I'm looking for sayable speeches, I"ll send it to you Mcat. The host; the speaker, will be in a seperate part of the room and not in the seats. I'll give you a screenshot of the room in a bit once it's done.

Thanks to Mcat, a Saturday ceremony has been added.

Gah! I mean, I would like to do a speech. Sorry.

of course :) Anyone who would like to is able to come up and say something during or after the ceremony :)

I would really like to attend however none of the times are good for me. As I will be working during the August time and it is the long weekend in September and will be away. I will try and find you and give you a candle for my loved ones :)
