We are thinking of getting the CP dinner package this year. Can someone tell us exactly what you get for the package price. Is it just an entree or is there more to it.

Thanks

Well, we chose Akershus, in Norway, as our restaurant. It included the regular buffet as well as our choice of two specialty desserts. Beverages (regular or alcoholic) were not included. Server TIP was included. Also included (I don't know if it was last year only, or will be an ongoing perk, as last year has been the only year, so far, that we've been during the holidays) was a 15% discount for almost anything purchased in EPCOT that day.

If you are looking for a (relatively) good value in a CP dinner package, consider Garden Grill. It is in the lowest tier and the price is typically within $5 of what you'd pay to eat there anyway, and drinks ARE included because they are included in the standard Garden Grill meal. And the food is good!

Thanks so far. We are thinking of eating at Lecelliar (sp), would you get to choose any entree and say a salad or is there a special menu for these packages.

Thanks

I am seconding the vote for the Garden Grill. The CP package cost is the same as the cost to eat there anytime and includes drinks and tip. I have used Garden Grill the last four years for my CP dinner. I would recommend LeCelliars for another night. It's fantastic. Any one heard if they are selling CP packages yet?

We used the CP package at Rose & Crown this past December. We found it to be a great deal, if used wisely. There is no $$ limit for appetizer or entree selection. We selected the prime rib as an entree and salmon appetizers and ended up saving $$ in the end. The shopping discount was also a nice perk.

If you are a light eater, the CP package may not be worth it though. I'd look through the menus when the time comes and compare the CP package price to determine whether it works for you. Happy Planning! :)

At Le Cellier (we chose this restaurant for last year's CP), the "advertised" price included choice of an appetizer, an entree and a dessert as well as a tip, seating in the reserved section of the Theater and a 15% merchandise discount for purchases made that day at EPCOT. (There were some things excluded from the discount).

You made your choices from the entire menu - i.e, from the same menu as all the restaurant patrons used. The price that was actually charged to your credit card (this was a prepaid package) included tax.

We enjoyed our meal at Le Cellier and found the CP Dinner Package to be a good value. When I added up our food choices and added tax and 15% tip, we actually came out a few dolllars ahead. And that wasn't considering the value of the reserved seating (which we really appreciated since it ranined that evening and we were under cover) or the 15% discount on purchases. Note that not all of the reserved seating is under cover.

HTH.

We chose the CP package at Rose & Crown. The meal included appetizer of choice, main course, and dessert. We also got free parking that day by showing our passes and the 15% off shopping discount was a great bonus. We had chosen R&C hoping to see Illuminations. The weather the entire week had been in the 60's. On our selected night it however dropped to barely 40 degrees and we froze to death (we had to eat very quickly and decided not to wait for Illuminations). The food here was just ok. I will stick to getting the fish & chips at the stand.
Good luck. We will be doing the package again this and are considering LeCellier (have eaten here before and loved it), Garden Grill, or San Angel Inn.

We chose Le Cellier and had the best meal ever! CM and atmosphere also super..Do It!
Connears

We did LeCellair last year as well. Our choices were the same as above, any appetizer, any main meal and any dessert. While soft drinks, tea are not included in the deal, we got ours without any extra charge. We all enjoyed it. The line for the reserved seating got very long, very quickly. Seems like we were almost to Morocco(you know how some people have to get in line as early as possible) but we still had great seats and very much enjoyed it.

We ate at LeCellier last year too. It's really worth it. It's alot of food so we had them box up the dessert (we went after the show). We also asked for the breadsticks that were left to be wrapped and they wrapped up some fresh ones too! We didn't pay for soft drinks either. The tip is included in the package price, but I saw some posts here where people left extra. I felt bad I didn't because our waitress really worked hard, just didn't think of it.

I figured I saved over $20 in shopping discounts. Went crazy in MouseGears ;) .

This year is our 1st Christmas trip and we can't wait. We love Christmas and WDW so we are set. How much is the CP package? I understand their are different prices for different resturants. We would most likely choose Le Cellier. Any more info ,including when these go on sale, would be great.

Here is the 2002 info from http://www.wdwig.com/h_cpfaq.htm.
I'm not sure when they go on sale. In my experience they do not sell out immediately so you don't need to panic; dates closer to Christmas probably go fastest.

The Garden Grill Restaurant - The Land
Biergarten - Germany
Restaurant Akershus - Norway

Tier 2
Adults - $32.99 / Child (3-11) - $10.95
San Angel Inn - Mexico
Restaurant Marrakesh - Morocco
Nine Dragons - China
Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room - United Kingdom

Tier 3
Adults - $39.99 / Child (3-11) - $10.95

L’Orignale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante - Italy
Le Cellier Steakhouse - Canada

We've done it twice. Once we did dinner first and this year we did the show first. Much prefer doing the show first. I think the package is well worth it and makes for a very special night.
