I've been making my reservations online and have forgotten the "best" way to get through the phone system.

Does anyone know what sequence of numbers to push without having to listen to the voice menu system and respond verbally?

I've got the phone number ready, and I think you press "1" right away to avoid demographic questions. Anybody know the secret to get to a human reservation-type person the quickest?

If you can't guess, I'd like to get a CP reservation on 12/25 at LeCelier. I should just go buy a lottery ticket, my chances will be better, I think! I have backup choices, of course.....

Closed Welcoming Message: "Thank you for calling Walt Disney World. Our office is closed..." Hang up right away and start redialling again.

Open Welcoming Message #1: "Thank you for calling Disney Dining. At this time, we are experiencing very high call volumes. If you have already arrived for your magical Walt Disney World vacation, you may visit any resort or theme park guest services location, or the podium at any Walt Disney World restaurant to make your dining Advance Dining Reservation arrangement. Thank you for your patience and understanding"

When you receive this message you know that the phone lines are now open, but unfortunately someone else was able to secure their call faster than you. There is nothing more that you can do, but wait.

"If you are calling to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, please press 2. For all other locations, please press 1."

The second that you hear "If you are calling..." press 1 on your phone. There is no need to listen to the entire message.

Open Welcoming Message #2: Thank you for calling Disney Dining. We're glad you called. Reservations for character dining and most other dining options can be made as far as 90 days in advance. Certain exceptions apply. If you are calling to make an Advance Dining Reservation for Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, please press 2."

As soon as you hear "If you are calling..." press 1 on your phone.

So far so good...

The service continues on to say:

"If you're calling from the Orlando area, or to make an Advance Dining Reservation within the next 7 days, press 1. If you're calling to make your dining plans for an upcoming trip, press 2."

When you hear "If you're calling from...", press 1 on your phone. By zipping through the messages like this you are hopefully getting ahead of the pack and closer to making those reservations!

Thanks a bunch - I just tried calling to "practice" and got the "we're closed" message.

Last year I had to work the morning CP went on sale. I got home around 1 pm. We were undecided on whether we should spend the $ on a package (family of 5, 4 adults, 1 kid, that's some coin). I told my husband we'd call and take it as a sign that we were supposed to go if there was a reservation available on 12/24 for Teppan Edo. The only reservation the guy had for me on 12/24 was lunch at Teppan Edo :) We loved the show, didn't really enjoy dinner. I'm hoping that my luck will be with me tomorrow, since my "plan" is to be in Epcot on Xmas Day. We'll see!

Can you press 1 even if you're not in Orlando or booking an ADR for the next 7 days? Does it give you an advantage? I'm getting ready to call for Neil Patrick Harris on a Friday and I'm thinking that show will be popular!

Thanks sooo much! I was looking at the calendar wrong and we can't go on Saturday!!!!!!! I guess we'll be seeing Isabella.

Do I really press one for the second question?

Thanks again!

We've seen Isabella before! She does a fabulous job!

We were undecided anyway so it's all great!

I chickened out and pressed 2 on the second question and got right through. We're all set with a 3:30 (a bit early that!) ADR at Via Napoli for the 6:45 show. Bring on December!

We're going on Friday the 9th to the 8:15 show and eating at 5:05 at Tutto Italia. That's just what we wanted! I also pressed 2 for the Orlando question, and got right through.

Bobbi:thumbsup2

PS.lori_vinciguerra, thanks for the information, we've never seen her before and have seen NPH twice, so we wanted someone different!

Prompts are different than what was posted. I didn't push any numbers, just said 'reservations' for what I wanted to do and then 'yes' when asked if I was in the Orlando area (figured it might get me in faster). Was on hold for 25 minutes.
