The thing is, when you beat cancer, it isnt like you beat the beast and are now a hero, you spend the rest of your life, anytime anything is wrong with you, proving to a team of Doctors it hasnt returned.

4 years ago I beat stage 4 Lymphoma, the most aggressive kind. Itthe beggging of June I noticed a lump in my neck, wait 2-3 weeks and just hope it goes away. It dont go to the Doctor, they fight with insurance companies, then argue about imaging and biopesys; Get one, the one doctor dont think they got enough, remove whole lympnoid from my neck, wait for results, btw in Hopstial for 6 hours, come home and got on the DIS (thank you vicodine ) went back to Dr twice, the results wernt in, so Doctor explains next move, if/when it comes back positive, they send me either to Cleveland Clinic, or Philadelphia Cancer Center, both would be for 28 days and be in isolation, Clinic for bone marrow transplant, or Philly for new treatment, that is working great and I am excellent candidate cause of my over all health.

Well today the test come back, all is well, it just swelled up cause some lymnoids damaged from chemo 4 years ago . Im so grateful but let me tell ya big boy cant keep this **** up

You are a hero! Cancer is the scariest freaking thing in the world and you faced it!

I'm so glad you are ok :) And you CAN keep this up, you are strong.

I have to, but tis like every time you get a pimple, they want another scan, you wait a week for the result, sit in Doctor office trying to read everyones face. then dr come sin and you see if its life changing news, untiln ext pimple

Also since June 1st, everyhitng I watch someone is dying of cancer
I’m glad you got good news! My dad beat lymphoma only to get pancreatic cancer later in life. I still feel he got cheated. He used to say the exact same thing you’re saying that every time you have anything wrong, you worry it’s cancer again. Hope you continue to stay cancer free. I know I don’t have to tell you, but I am sooo sick of cancer. 😔

I’m sure it can be exhausting but keep doing those scans! My dad got fed up with it & stopped after about 7 years. I still wonder if we would have caught his pancreatic cancer earlier. Would likely not have cured him but maybe given him more time. And, in the end, that’s all he wanted was just a little more time 😔.

yep my dad died of pancreatic cancer , and thats a whole another issue every time they do a scan checking for Lymphoma ( often beat) Im afraid they will say, no lymphoma but we see a shadow on your pancreas

Thrilled to hear the good news. I was a bit nervous opening the thread and read it. I have had some scares and my mom had breast cancer twice. My boss went through the bone marrow transplant in Philly and all is well for him, now.

You are a hero.

I am glad you are "okay." I understand how scary it can be. Once you have a diagnosis, everything makes you think oh God, is this it.

I have to for my annual check in a couple weeks to see where things are with me. Two years in a row they found something that "might be an issue later" but for now we just watch and wait.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that but I'm glad you made it! Please keep up with the checks, even though they are scary. I was diagnosed with HPV cervical cancer when I was 18. It's 20 years later but I still remember how scared I was every time I went in for a colposcopy after they removed the cancer. And every pap smear after that.

I’m paranoid every time I have a slight ache or ailment too 😔 & I haven’t even had any cancer or any real reason to worry so I can’t imagine what you go through. The thing that just messes with my mind is his absolute lack of symptoms until it was too late. But, the whole experience has definitely given me a whole new perspective on trying to live life to the fullest every day.

I forgot to mention that I have swelling of my lymph nodes 13 years later! Always a reminder of what radiation does to a body.

Glad you got good news! We've been living with DH having prostate cancer this spring and radiation treatments. He's feeling good now after having side effects for almost 2 months. Even when he was having treatments, he was working full time. He missed a total of 4 hours. I wish they would find a cure for this nasty beast
