Hi everyone,

let me first explain my situation. I am flying to CDG T3 on Wednesday, and am due to arrive at 9.20am. I booked the TGV train for 10.28.
Now iv been looking at the arrival times for the past few days and the plane has been getting in later than scheduled. I think i will miss the 10.28 train.
I have read that i can just get on the next train, but the next train was at a higher price on the website AND it is not until 11.50am!!!

Now i am sure that the ticket is refundable? What i was thinking of doing is getting a refund on the ticket and getting the VEA which comes twice an hour.

What do you think? What should i do? How do i go about cancelling my TGV tickets? Should i just risk it?

hi, me again.
i have found how to cancel the tickets (http://be.tgv.com/en/reservation/exchange.html FYI!)

now i know i can cancel, should i? I just dont want to run the risk of missing the train then waiting almost an hour and a half for the next one when i could be sitting on a bus on the way to the magic!

Can you cancel your ticket after the your scheduled time to be on it?
That would seem your best option, if its possible. Keep the ticket, and if you don't use it, get a refund afterwards.

I've given up using the train on Monday evening, I've booked with rstransports instead.

I've missed 'my' train in past and just hopped on the next one. For a ten minute ride it really doesn't make much difference as I normally don't even take a seat. And the SNCF staff advise to do so....

So long as you have validated your ticket for that day you should be fine.

Just make sure that if you ARE going to cancel that you understand the rules attached to your ticket. Different fares have different cancellation policies. Some allow same day cancellation, others will hold back a small amount if you cancel on the same day.

okay, so i cancelled my ticket. I think i now need to post my ticket back to rail europe so that i can get a refund.
instead i booked the VEA. We will still probably get to the hotel around the same time as taking the 11.50 train but at least there will be less waiting around at the airport.
I still have my TGV ticket for going back to the airport though!!
