Can I cancel my placeholder cruise without canceling the placeholder reservation? I hope that makes sense. Also, if I did, would I get back everything except $250, and how long does that take?

Not sure what you mean by canceling cruise without canceling reservation. We cruised in October of 2015 and booked a placeholder and have until October 2017 to cruise. I don't think we will able to take a cruise in this timeframe and I just called yesterday to inquire about this. We have not put any money down except the $250.00 and we will get this money back if we cancel the placeholder. I do not believe you get the money back if you book concierge.

so your placeholder cruise was for a specific date - or is your booking window closing (the 2 years in advance you can book and have the discount and Onboard booking credit)?

If you have a specific date and you just want to move your ressie to another date, you can do that, but DCL will still want a deposit of some sort. But you need to move to the new date BEFORE the cancellation penalties kick in (so you save your money)

If you are running out of time to use your OBB stateroom credit and discount, just cancelling the ressie is probably the best. Then book again with DCL with a "regular" booking when there is a cruise that works out for you.

I'm figuring you mean that you booked a placeholder originally when onboard ($250 deposit)? And then changed it to a specific cruise, putting down howevermuch more the deposit was? Now you want to switch the actual reservation back to a placeholder (not a specific cruise)?

I don't think that's do-able, but you can, as noted, switch the cruise you've got booked to a different one. As long as the cruise you actually take starts within the 24 month window from the day the placeholder was booked, you'll get the perks associated with an onboard booking.

If you just want to cancel the cruise, and still hold a placeholder to be used within your 24 month window - I don't know. You'll have to call DCL and ask them if they will do that.
