Cancelling part of a waitlist

If I need to cancel part of a waitlist do lose my place in the waitlist queue? Do I need to call/chat with MS to make the change or I can do it myself on the website.

That is setting up an entirely new waitlist and will change your spot in the queue. However since the waitlist matches first to whatever it can fill then having a waitlist for less nights might actually have a better chance of filling.

Since its cancel and create a new waitlisted you can just do it online.

Kat is correct. Unfortunately there isn't a way to modify a WL. Here's my recommendation: leave the WL you currently have active. Set up a second wl for the dates you really need. If the shorter wl matches first great,it will cxl the other. If the longer matches first since it's been on the wl longer just call MS and mod the dates.
