Sorry to hear that, mommy poppins!! I know how hard that decision was to make. I was kind of hoping you'd keep yours so I could see how those photo manips they talked about doing would turn out. I still don't regret cancelling mine, but if it weren't for those darn grad night tresses I'd still have done it in a heart beat. Just make sure to spoil yourself somewhere else since you just saved yourself so much money
In case anyone is curious, the week of April 24 - May 6 or so, the castle is going to look someething like this:
Partially for the same reasons as Mary - the trusses in the castle photos; although Disney Photography assured us that they would "manipulate" the photos so that the trusses didn't appear. Also, my DH hates to have his picture taken so I knew he wouldn't enjoy it as much as I would. And, the idea of getting up at 3:30am (our photo shoot was scheduled for 5am) was starting to seem less appealing.
And finally, the $$. Some of you don't know this, but my DH recently returned from an 18 month deployment. Last year was our 10th anniversary. We have 3 young children (10, 7 and 4). My DH is National Guard but has been deployed 4 times in the last 9 years. He has only lived with us for about 1 year of my 4 year old's life. Since we are already married and this is a vow renewal and family recommitment for us, it was more important that we do things that would create memories for us as a family. I have albums of wedding pictures from our original wedding 11 years ago. I will have lots of pictures from our vow renewal ceremony. But the pictures at the MK wouldn't include the most precious part of our marriage--our children. So, it was more important for me at this time to include Mickey & Minnie at our reception where they could interact with us and our children. Those pictures will be just as special to us as the MK photo session--and we don't have to get up at 3am!!!
