Cancelling double booked reservtions - will I lose FP?

I have a question regarding FP+ if you change a reservation. We've currently got a split stay for a short trip at the end of October. One night (Sunday) is for sure at BLT, but we're still trying to secure a DVC room for Friday and Saturday to figure out where we'll spend those nights. I have a reservation at BCV for Friday, but we don't want to move twice, so I also have a reservation at POFQ in case we can't get BLT or BCV for Saturday.

My question: I will be booking FP next week, but I currently have three reservations in my profile, and one of them will definitely be cancelled. When we cancel (whether it's the POFQ or changing the BLT/BCV reservations), will I lose any 60-day FPs I booked? Or will they remain with the profile as long as there is always a valid reservation attached?

You should be OK. Last November I had an AP reservation for BWV at the same time I was grabbing points nights. I didn't cancel the AP reservation until I had all 5 points nights. My FP+ were intact.

I just went through this on Wednesday. As long as you have a VALID resort reservation AND VALID tickets you will be OK.

My issue was this: I had a week long reservation and BCV for end of September and had booked our FP at the 60 day mark at 1am. This includes A&E and 7DMT! I had also wait listed BLT for the last 3 days of our stay so that we could walk to and from the MNSSHP. Low and behold our wait list came through last week - which means I had to cancel the 3 days at BCV and before the 31 day mark which was wednesday. So on Wednesday I called Disney technical support first and asked them if this would affect my FP. The great CM said that the computer checks daily for 2 things before any FP get deleted.

1. that Valid tickets are in the system (we have APs so no problem)
2. that there is a Valid resort reservation for the duration of our FP selections

He said that it doesn't matter if its one resort or 2, as long as all the days are covered. He suggested linking the wait listed reservation to DME first and then cancelling the last 3 days of the original reservation. This way there is no gap in reservation at any time. He did not know at what specific time the computer checks this information.

So that's what I did right after speaking with him. I called DVC and got another great CM who was very patient and let me link the reservation first and then dropped the last 3 days of the original. He was also very understanding about my fear of loosing the A&E and 7DMT FPs.

Everything worked out great - still have all of my FP and no points went into holding.

Thank you guys both so much...one less thing to be nervous about! We have APs as well, and there will definitely be a reservation(s) for the duration, so this makes me feel a lot better about booking FP in a few days.

Thanks again!

I agree you will be OK. I changed my reservations more than I would have liked and I kept my FP's.
