Has anyone canceled their Disney Visa card? How difficult is it to cancel?

I would like to talk my parents into signing up for the card to get rewards to use on my trip, but if they want to cancel later and decide not to use it, how difficult is it to do?

Not sure what you mean about difficulty canceling?? I have canceled other credit cards and all I have had to do is call them and tell them I am canceling the card!! They usually try to talk you into staying but I don't really find that a problem. If you mean difficulty regarding rewards, if it was me I would make sure I had used all my rewards before I canceled the card just in case. If you are concerned about it why not give them a call? :)

When you cancel a credit card it is best done in writing to the Customer Service address shown on the bill, which is not the same as where payment goes.

Include in the letter that you have destroyed any cards and convenience checks in your posession and that you have no automatic recurring charges. Also ask for acknowledgement of the cancellation and that they report the account to the Credit Bureaus as "Closed at Consumer's Request".

If you have any outstanding balance it will have to be paid off as per the agreement, so if you have not been paying in full each month you still have to pay until it is paid in full.

Make sure if you get them to sign up that you use the code to get the FREE $50 posted to their rewards card with first purchase!
