Cancelling disney plus

The savings I had on my trip this year more than made up for it (a week for 2 ppl, tickets, hotel, dining, for just over 2k). I will have to see if any other things come up a far as offers, otherwise, I don't think it would be worth the cost, either.

Our subscription is due in a few weeks. $170. In "22" , we paid half the price. $84.79.

We hardly watch it. Mostly for grandkids.

Has there been black friday or Christmas deals in the past?
FWIW I think the black Friday deals they've offered in recent years have been for new subscribers only. I hardly watch mine either but it's a little cheaper with the Hulu bundle

If you’re ok with commercials, there has been a Black Friday deal with Hulu, for 99 cents per month and add on Disney+ for $2 per month. No idea if they will be doing it this year. If they do, I will sign up.

I got Hulu and Disney+ for $2.99 plus tax last November. I went to cancel before it renews later this month. To keep me from canceling, I was offered both for $5.99 plus tax for six months. I accepted, lol!

Not bad. I’m going to see if they offer the same deal for Black Friday. If they do, I have a household member to sign up and I can cancel mine.

Oh, I just got this email from Hulu:

"As a Hulu (With Ads) subscriber with the Disney+ Basic Add-on, we wanted to let you know that the Disney+ Add-on will be discontinued. To avoid any disruption in your viewing experience, your Hulu subscription will automatically update to a Disney Bundle Duo plan, including continued access to both Hulu (With Ads) and Disney+ Basic on your first regularly priced billing cycle after expiration of your Hulu (With Ads) promotion. There will be no increase in your non-promotional monthly subscription fees as a result of this update."

So, that makes me wonder if they will still have the Black Friday deal...

I cancelled D+ and Hulu earlier this month (have them through Nov 23). I have a deal to renew Hulu only for $2.99/month for 6 months, so after my plan officially expires, if nothing better comes Black Friday, I'll grab Hulu and keep Disney dumped until at least Andor season 2 - the next thing I might watch, which apparently won't come out til Apr 2025. So little adult content on D+ I want.

I had dumped Peacock ($80/year) at the same time this month, but then they gave me $20/year, so I reupped for the Macy's parade and football. Hopefully, I'll watch a Top Chef season or some ice skating, too...but that $20 is about all its worth for me.

I only watch Tubi lately and its free. I watch Netflix occasionally and Prime is useful but otherwise it can all go.
I have You tube TV, prime, and Netflix. Prime is the only one that's decent because you can pretty much find any movie old or new. I used to binge watch a lot of series on Netflix. The last 7 years or so it's mostly just awful.

My aunt has a whole lot of streaming services on her TV that she watches a lot because she also has cable too and among the streaming services she has are Netflix Youtube TV and Peacock and Amazon Prime and even though she already has cable my aunt refuses to cancel them and keep the streaming channels she does watch a lot of. My aunt did try the free trial of Disney+ and she was hooked on some of the series it had so she got it at a good price just so she could see Moon Knight and Hawkeye and The Mandalorian too. But why I think Disney+ keeps raising prices is so that they want to stay alive and by promoting their Hulu/Max/ESPN bundle they want to attract more subscribers to them because to Disney+ this bundle is currently their top draw at the moment. But if you're like my aunt if you can get a free trial of Disney+ it is totally worth it. My mom also has Paramount+ and she likes it and if you want the entire Paramount Pictures TV and movie library as well as Nickelodeon shows for the kids it's worth it. But I think in 2025 Disney+ will lower it's prices and offer new subscribers a special deal for new members and Hulu and Max will be on one tier and the second tier will be ESPN and they'll split Disney+ separately

Last year at there was offers for different streams, $3 a month for a few months. We did get a few and binge watched series. But not much else, so that worked well. We are about that point with Disney. Only watch a show here and there now, probably would be best to get a month here or there. But sometimes, you get a get a great deal for 3-6 months, makes it worth it vs. just getting a month here or there.
