cancelling delta american express cc without losing delta points?

I am thinking about cancelling my delta amex card due to the increased annual fee, however I do not want to lose my delta points currently in my account. Has anyone cancelled their card recently? Thanks.

The miles are attached to your DL acct not amex. There's no reason to worry.
