Cancelling a Trip

Good news bad news. The good news - we're buying a new house. The bad news, I booked a WDW vacation for just about the same time escrow is closing.

Thinking of cancelling trip. Booked through WDW travel company. Do you know what it will cost to cancel? Trip is to start on Jan 20.

did you book a pacakge - ie room, tickets, dining or some combination - you would have placed a $200 deposit on booking - this has more specifics - i think inside 30 days youdo have some canelation penalities - you can always call 407 w disney and they can tell you specifics.

or did you just book a room - you would have paid one night room and tax - if just a room - you can cancel with no penalty up to 5 days i think and youcan always modify it - ie change the date

OP: well if ever there is a GOOD reason to cancel a trip its cause you're getting a new HOME!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Assuming you booked a package and because you are less than 45 days from your trip, the cost to cancel is $100. If you were to cancel less than five days prior to the trip, the cancellation fee is $200.

You can reschedule the trip though and they don't charge a fee. We had to cancel our December trip and we just rescheduled it for when we know we'll be going September 2010....no fees or anything and everything we'd paid on it just transferred to the new reservation.
