Cancelling a reservation

Sorry if this is confusing - DVC newbie here. I made a reservation for Jan 2012 that I am going to cancel. It was made with the 2010 points I got as a "bonus" for joining, and I had banked them for 2011. When will I need to use these points? Will they go into the bank or somewhere else? I have a Sept. UY, if that makes a difference.

Since they are 2011 points now through banking, they will expire at the end of your current use year. It sounds like you might have a September use year???? If so, they would expire on August 31 this year.

I banked them in April (right when I joined) to keep them from expiring in August 11. Does this mean they would be good until August 2012?

sept 2010 pts are valid from sept 1, 2010 to aug 31, 2011. since you banked them, they are now valid for stays from sept 1, 2011 to aug 31, 2012.

pts can be banked/borrowed one time, after that they will expire at the end of their new UY...so yes, you have to use them or lose them by aug 31, 2012.

you can use them to book a stay for yourself, or family or friends, or rent a reservation for a stranger...but if they are not used for a stay by the end of aug 2012, they are just gone.
