I am looking for suggestions on what might be the best way to cancelling a ressie we have for a 4 nite cruise. Unfortnately DW is unable to go due to a medical reason and DD and I really don't want to leave her behind. I made the ressie with points and did not take the insurance, so waht are my options.

We were booked on Feb, 18 thru Feb 22, 2007. Can I resell the ressie or book some friends in our place? Any info would be appreciated, thanks. Ron

Sorry to hear about your DW - hope she recovers quickly and completely.

You may be able to change the names on the reservation by paying the $75 fee. My advice is to call MS to get accurate info on that aspect of your question.

If it were me, I'd just cancel and use the points for something else.

The points from the cancellation will go back into your account in "reservation" status. That means they expire at the end of your current use year and cannot be used for stay at a DVC reosrt or an exchange via Interval International or the Lake Buena Vista Trading Company.

They can be used to a stay at one of the resorts in the Disney Collection, the Adventurers Collection or the Conceirge Collection. That includes rescheduling your curise for another time (if that would be an option before the points expire).

Perhaps there is an option relatively close to home (or within easy drving distance) that the 3 of you would enjoy - Maybe a nice long weekend somewhere when your DW feels up to it.
