I have the highest (and only bid) on skyauction, I want to cancel the bid, is this possible and if so, how do I go about it?

Since I had never used SA before I bid $20 (stupidly) but now I don't even want to win it because I found something I wanted more.

I sent an email to customer support, is there a phone number for SA that I can call?

1-800-929-9929

they may show you some slack since it is your first time using the site..??

Give them a call at 1-800-929-9929 and tell them you placed a bid by accident. Have your ID and the auctuion #.

I called and told them that I placed a bid by accident and the lady was TOTALLY rude and said that I would have to wait and see if I won the auction and then send an email and they will see if it is possible to cancel the bid.

Does anyone know whether I can choose to keep the product or not?

I'm really not a flake, I placed the bid with the full intention of hoping to win, then my friend who's parents have a vacation home called and said someone cancelled for our week and I can have it for $300.00 for 8 nights.

What did you bid on? How much time is left on it? So many people wait until the last minute...

I bid on a 1 bedroom at vacation village but it is the smaller one bedroom which I figured out after I read more posts. And stupidly, I bid $20.

I erased my credit card info from my profile, so maybe they won't be able to charge my card.

Even if they do, I will probably just forfeit it since for $300 I can get a 4 BR 3 Bath with private pool in Windsor Palms.

Problem is if you forfiet....it will not be the $20. It will be the $20 plus the $195 tax and service fee, plus the $15 doc fee. So you are talking $230 if someone bids against you up to the $20. Forgive me for saying this, but just because you have found something better, really isn't a right to cancel a binding bid. I don't want to sound like I am getting on your case, I am not. But you need to think about what you have said. Had that other offer not come by, you would not be canceling would you? That is the breaks with SkyAuction, once you bid, you are bound to your bid. If you refuse to pay, I would imagine that they could (if they wanted to) go after you or put something on your credit and most definatly, they will not let you use them again. Maybe if you get stuck with it, you can sell it to someone. Again, please don't think I am jumping on you, I'm not. Trust me, I have made many stupid decisions in my life that I have wanted to get out of & couldn't. One of them is a recent bid on Priceline...got a horrible hotel ....and there is nothing I can do. I cannot call them & say "hey, I changed my mind" I am stuck with it... Hope things work out for you.
Actually, there may be a way out. When you bid, were there dates to pick from or was it a specific date? I know once I bid & won an auction & ended up not taking it. They advertised a set of dates & by the time the auction was over, the dates I needed were gone. They did not charge my charge card since the dates were not available anymore.... with any luck, that can happen to you. I wasn't happy at the time, I wanted my win, but it may work out for you.....

I just went on SA to see if I could figure out which was your bid. Is it over? All the Vacation Village bids say minimun bid $1 (meaning that no one has bid on them). Or did you manage to get them to cancel it for you. Was also thinking that if you did have to take it, maybe you could check out the travel insurance & maybe get out of it that way if SA will not release you from your bid???? Just another thought. Again, hope it works out for you.

Skyauction has always had a very liberal cancellation policy compared to Priceline and Hotwire.
I've never had a problem. Wait till the auction is over and you receive email notification. Reply to the notification that you made a mistake and don't want it. They will not charge your card without your verification.
I've also talked to them on the phone dozens of times and never had a rude person. I'm sorry you had one.

the person who got the 4 bedroom home at wp. can you see if they want to rent it out the beginning of june?
