Well, I couldn't resist. I decided to opt for the purchase of an AP to get the lower rate at POFQ, and I have cancelled my POP reservation. I got the POFQ for the exact same rate we had POP at for our room only discount. I just called to see how much it would be out of curiosity, and got caught up in the thought upgrading to a moderate.

We're staying for 9 nights, so I guess it's not too bad a decision. The park tickets would be pretty darn expensive if we were to go the UPH or PHP route.

What do you think of my decision? Here's how it broke down:

9 days/10 nights at Pop - June 1st - 10th w/ BBY : $743

9 days/10 nights at POFQ - June 1st - 10th w/AP : $743

C'mon guys, reassure me of my decision. AND, tell me how nice POFQ is if you've stayed there. I've only stayed at Riverside previously.

Thanks! :earsboy: :earsboy:

I think your decision is a great one. How often do you get a chance to stay at a newly referbished resort? And since your're staying for 9 nights the AP just makes good financial sense. You you just have to schedule your trip a week earlier for next year!

I did the exact same thing and I am way to excited. You now have better accomodations and a pass for the next visit.

Great rate! You'll just HAVE to come back now, and I love POFQ! Every building is close to everything, so no long walks through your resort! If you do want a long walk, the walk to Riverside is very nice!

POFQ is a lovely resort! It was recently refurbished, so I imagine it's even nicer! The grounds are very pretty and we really enjoyed the convenience of the food court.
Do you have children? If so I think they will really enjoy the pool!
Enjoy your vacation!

I am new and dont know what Ap is and dont know what POFQ ?thanks Diane

Excellent choice. I believe POFQ (Port Orleans French Quarters) to be the best of the moderates. I have always enjoyed staying there and although I haven't seen the resort since the renovations, I bet they took it up another notch. Great call on the AP (Annual Pass) code. Enjoy!

We did the exact same thing. Originally we were gonna stay
at POP but then those new codes came and...well :) Besides, in the very beginning we thought that POFQ would be a great resort but decided to save the money...but with the new code, it's much much better :)

I think your decision is perfect. It will be much more quiet and relaxing at POFQ. We will be staying there for the first time April 6 - April 10. We have stayed at POR and have walked over to POFQ and can't wait to stay there.

If fact, we did not have any plans to go to Disney this spring, but when I saw it was opening on the disboards I planned a short trip down.

I just called and reserved the end of June with a Disney Visa at POP for $60/night, this is including tax. I am sure you will enjoy POFQ much more but just wanted to point out that the price for POP has also dropped and it would still be a savings of $200. Enjoy.

Don't forget the boat ride down to pleasure island. The landscaping, trees, etc should be a little more mature as the resort has been there awhile. You have the river to watch wildlife. We are staying there too for the first time if hubby can get holidays, we also did not have a trip planned til these codes

Saying all that I would also stay at pop century, just depends on how much you want to pay.

I did the exact same thing. We had ressies at POP for June 5-12 and when the Disney Visa code came out I switched to POFQ. My DS (he will be 14) is very excited about the boat ride to DTD and the fishing hole at POR. We had previously stayed at ASSp and CBR and we both agree we like the moderates better because the theming is more relaxing. :jester: ::MinnieMo

Dinae, Welcome!!!! We do use alot of abbreviations around here!!! AP is annual pass. PO FQ is Port Orleans french quarter.

Could someone please clarify the amount of a moderate when using the BBY code. I thought it was $94 per night, but when I do the math for the above example, it's only $74 per night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, realized my mistake after I posted, didn't know how to delete my reply.

Many are talking about the Disney Visa code of CCA. You must put your deposit and pay in full using your Disney Visa Charge card. I know that was how I was quoted the prices and they were shocked at the rate when she put the code in, she said she had never seen it so low. The rate is good until 7/4, but I believe must be booked by 3/19

We did too for our May trip!!

Although we'll probably return to the Value resorts for future trips, cause we usually bring hordes of people with us.

Since this trip was just the four of us, I couldn't resist French Quarter at $74 a night with AP!!!

I have always made it a point to visit POFQ for our afternoon break at least once each trip. Sitting by the pool bar or sitting on a bench near the river is just heavenly!!!

Now to be able to use the pool and hot tub on our afternoon break will be GREAT!!!!!

I can't wait!!!!

Carol

We have trip planned in October for 10 nights at Westgate Lakes but decided why not go in May too and buy annual passes. In May we will stay at POFQ and got AP rate of 82/night. I saw on this post a rate of 74/night how did you get that rate? I am so excited as this trip was an unexpected "lets just do it" kind of thing? Any info on pools/kiddie pools and playgrounds? I have a 2yr old and 5 yr old.
