cancelled OKW on 11/16 now what?

After this mornings plane crash, our family has decided to drive down instead of fly. We cancelled our one night (before going onto Vero for a week) so now I have 41 points "holding", and from what I understand until 8/1, but I have to make ressies 60 days in advance.....?????

Call me an ignoramous, but I am so confused on what this means. Could someone please explain what this means. Help!

If anyone could make this easy to understand, it would be you guys.

We are going to WDW next December so I am so confused what I should do with these 41 points before August. Customer service at DVC said it would not be a good idea to use my once in a lifetime opportunity to bank these.

Holding points have to be used by the end of your current use year (your use year is August?) and not more than 60 days prior to arrival. So if you decided to use them for a stay arriving on 6/1, you would have to wait until 4/1 (60 days prior) to make the reservation with those points. I agree that I wouldn't use your "once in a lifetime" banking option, I would save it for a trip that involves more points. One option is to try to rent them on the rental board.

I'm not sure where you're located but if you're driving down, will you be going by HH? That would be a great place to stop for a night either on the way down or back or both. I assume this isn't the busiest season down there and you may be able to find availability.
