Hello,

So my friends and I were in Disneyworld from 11/2-11/6. We ate at 'Ohana (first time for all) on Saturday night. For how expensive it was, we all agreed the food was no where near worth the hype it gets. I only like the shrimp and steak, no one liked the chicken, I was served RAW chicken, the noodles we're gross... all in all a really bad experience for us.

I had it reserved for my future DH and I in February but quickly cancelled it once I returned home. I'm really bummed too because I really wanted to love it. :(

I wonder if it was just a bad night...I would of ..complained about uncooked chicken...but usually people love this place..
i was considering it too for our next trip..
Thanks so much for telling us about this

My husband and I went for the first time this past summer and we thought it was okay, but not worth the price. The food was decent enough but not good enough where people rave about it. We won't be back for awhile.

We just had breakfast there (this past Saturday) and really liked the food. The food itself wasn't worth the price, but the characters were!

This used to be a must do for us. My husband and I made our fifth stop here in June and it was terrible. Everything looked similar to our previous visits but tasted different. I even asked our server if they had a new chef but he said no. I dont think I will go back. I thought maybe it was a fluke but I have seen lots of people posting the same.

I have to agree that imo O'Hana is awful. (Sorry, I seem to be a negative Nellie saying something similar on another thread about Chef M's but I honestly think those two are among the WORST and MOST over rated on property)

I've given O'Hana several chances and every time it's been the same ridiculous wait past ADR time to be seated, dried out old food, hooooorrrible service...LOUD (even by WDW standards), elbow to elbow crammed tables that would allow you to eat off your nieghbors plate.
I honestly have almost nothing good to say about it. IF (big if) the noodles are actually not stone cold they are good. The salad is nice.

I am now dissapointed with Ohanas also. It used to be my favorite restaraunt but now I don't think we'll even go back. Each time I've gone its gone further down hill. Last month it was really blah. Not sure whats changed but its definately no where near as good as it once was. :sad2:

I don't mark it down because I can't eat all the meats...I don't much like the beef and pork but I think it's worthwhile to load up on shrimp. Raw chicken, however, is a major issue.

I've been twice in the past couple moths and the shrimp, always my fave, are now much smaller and less spicy.on the positive side they were butterflied our last visit which made the peeling easier.

'Ohana has long been our favorite for all around dining (food, fun ambiance) but no more. I just do not think they are trying.

Well I guess I will be the one that disagrees with everyone else! We ABSOLUTELY love this place. It is a must every year and we do know food being located 45 minutes outside of New Orleans, LA. To each his own!

We just back Tuesday night after 8 days on DXDP and ate ate at BOG, Narcoossee's, Cal Grill, LTT, Le Cellier(twice), CRT, Brown Derby, Akershus, Crystal Palace, Rain Forest and Flying Fish. On the plane, my husband said, "Make sure we eat at 'Ohana's when we come back, I love that place." Enough said, it was our first time and the food was really good!

I too give it a "meh". Was there a week and a half ago for my first Disney trip. I may have had my expectations too high because of the DISboards, but, even if I take that into account, it still gets a "fine".

The Noodles were cold, the dumplings were tough to cut into, the wings weren't as crispy as they should have been. My steak was grey, but fortunately someone else at the table shared a properly cooked piece with me. I loathed the idea of peel your own shrimp, even with cold towels provided. They were brought to us warm, but we ran through all the towels at the chicken wing course and they were not refilled.

The whole "cousin" thing to me felt contrived and forced.

My husband didn't mind, so it's possible I'll go back for a second chance, but with lower expectations.

It definitely seems to be a YMMV thing. We ate there a couple months ago and everyone in our group of 5 enjoyed it. Not everyone loved every dish but overall we all liked it a lot and between all the different courses and skewers there was certainly plenty to eat. We all did love the dessert! And maybe we got lucky but there was no long wait after ADR time and good service.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Raw Chicken?! That really does sound awful!

I loved 'Ohana when I went there years ago, and plan to go back next year on my WDW trip. It definitely is not for everyone, but I loved the wings, potstickers, and various meats. I don't think any food in the world is really worth the price that is charged though

I love Ohana's. I live within 2 hours of WDW, and probably went at least 3 times last year and never had a problem with the food. Service on the other hand is sometimes hit or miss. I almost wish more guests would cancel their ADR's so locals could enjoy it more often.

Ohana is always a must do for us. We did dinner twice and breakfast once the last time we were in DW. The characters at breakfast are great and at dinner they love the entertainment. The food is "good". Not great, but good enough.

I would have said something about raw chicken, that's gross. I think they would have made it right and then made sure they rest of your meal went well.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it though!

We just ate there this past Saturday night with a party of 7. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Our server was very efficient...always coming by with more meat....meeting my DH's request of his meat cooked rare.....chicken was a little dry, but tasty...especially dipped in the peanut sauce. Kids had a great time doing the coconut race, dances, songs.....We requested more dressing for the salad and more peanut sauce...and were given huge bowls! We had a great time and look forward to our annual December reservation.
