seeing if anyone else whose chosen to cancel has had the same happen.
I cancelled our holiday for August and had the confirmation that it had been cancelled and that refunds it would be payment stages which I guessed were deposit and final payment. What I have received is a confirmation email of the 35% refund and it stating I’ll be receiving that as a refund.
Hopefully for my sanity and not having to spend 3 hours on the phone others than have cancelled have had the same...
And it’s not 3 hours of “it’s a small world after all” For me.

I sent a whingy email too.... apparently they will make the 35% refund booking... then use that new booking to refund the remaining amount in a few days
I’ll leave this here in case anyone has same issue or query to save them 3hrs
