Cancellations....

For those who have cancelled...how long did it take to get your deposit back?

I paid Visa although it is a debit card and the $500 was immediately taken out of my checking account. I cancelled 1/3/04 and haven't seen anything. When I questioned DU they said it could take up to TWO billing cycles????


What has your experience been?
 
Yes, this happened to me. I cancelled just before a billing cycle ended, and it didn't have time to show up on that bill. I actually called about it -- we're talking about $800 here! However, within days I was able to see the transaction had been completed (I can see my credit card bill online anytime), and when the next paper statement came out it was one of the first items on the list.
 
I am just worried...this isn't a BILL....it was directly from my bank account......do they treat debit cards the same?
$500 is $500!! I want my money back already.....
 
I cancelled a DCL cruise once, and it took about 10 days for me to receive my deposit back from DCL. I also booked through Dreams. It has nothing to do with Dreams though, it's DCL they take a while to process those refunds...... And yes, they treat debit cards and credit cards the same. Since the transaction was processed the same way regardless whether you used a debit or credit card.
