If I am booking hotel room separate from parkhoppers, because the specials they have on both for when I'm going work out to be cheaper to do it that way, can I reserve the room now with a deposit but then still cancel if something comes up? I'm asking because me and the kids have the time off and want to go in March, but my husband is still confirming his time off. But I don't want to wait too long - and I'm anxious to book something!

So am I understanding that when it's not a package - and it's room only, you don't have to pay until you get there??

It depends on the hotel that you are looking at. For instance DI&S asks for no deposit and has a 48 hour cancellation policy. Some hotels want the first night as the deposit. What hotel are you thinking about?

With Disney, you can cancel or change without loosing your deposit at 30 days for a package, and a week for hotel only.

Offiste hotels vary.

When I called they asked for the first night fee in order to book. But I was told that you can amend your dates as long as you aren't canceling completely. Some fees may apply. They were really nice and helpful and they will answer all of your questions if you give them a call. They also told me if I book my dates and a better price becomes available you can call in and take advantage of the new savings. :goodvibes

It would be the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian. That would be wonderful news - that I could cancel if I needed to. I would hate to have to pay a cancellation fee of a whole night..........

Another thing - when we stayed last March at the Grand Californian, I'm pretty sure I did it all over the phone. Not sure why - I forget - unless it was because being in Canada it wouldn't let me do it online? I can obviously call tomorrow and ask, but wondering if they offer the same promotional discount doing it on the phone that they do online....

Yes. It's a little different because online, you use a link through the promotion and are set up to book it, over the phone they have to look it up.
