I may have posted this in the wrong spot... sorry.
I have a reserved paid in full vacation that starts on the 17th of Jan.
I did not buy the insurance. Can I cancel my whole trip? Are there penalties?
Is it possible to keep the park ticket portion of my trip and cancel the hotel and dining plan?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If you have a package paid by cash, booked thru Disney, you should ask your question on the Resorts board. You are in the period where canceling would forfeit your deposit on a package at a minimum.

I am not sure what kind of a trip you had planned and that makes a big difference in refunds/cancellation process.

If you own DVC and need to cancel for January 17th- your points will go into holding (must be used before the end of the use year and cannot be booked until 60 days out from the trip).

If you rented from a DVC member you would have to look at your cancelation policy- I would venture to guess that since it is within 30 days most ownere would not allow you to cancel but may be willing to try and sell the reservation to get you back some money.

With either of these cases you should be able to cancel the dining plan and get the money back on that- although I have never done a dining plan. If you were going to pay for the dining plan at check in it can be cancelled without a problem.

If you have a package purchased through Disney- since you are less than 45 days out your cancellation fee is $200- if you purchased trip insurance that can change it.

Those are the most basic answer to your question- for anything more we would need more specifics about the type of reservation you currently have.
