What is the cancellation policy on a room only reservation?

We had to cancel our WDW last year because my dd (26) died suddenly. I called and cancelled a room only. I had sent a money order for the deposit and they sent me a check of the same amount. I think it was 30 days in advance.

For room only it is 6 days before arrival (that is what I was told yesterday)

From what I can gather you can cancel anytime before 6 days and you will recieve the entire deposit back.

If you cancel after 6 days before, you loose the deposit but don't have to pay the rest.
