guys...
i have 5 nites booked at disneyland hotel in california with points borrowed from 2004 (june)...we are looking forward to the trip but thought that if i could find a good rate i might be willing to pay cash for the room and cancel our reservation that is using the points...we are scheduled to arrive in california on april 4th...what is the policy regarding the points if i cancel...i know that i lose more as i approach the actual checkin date but i'm not sure how it will work...i'm not too upset about having to potentially use the currently reserved points soon as we are also planning a trip to disney world in june/july 2004...
can anyone help???
thanx in advance....

Since you have already made the ressie on borrowed points. The points you borrowed will remain in this UY. The other problem is you will not be able to use those points for a DVC stay. Those points would have to be used outside of the DVC inventory (such as Concierge, World Passport, Disney Cruise or WDW hotels, etc.)

I hope this information is helpful. Check your Member Guidebook all the rules and regulations are printed inside.

I would probably keep the ressie and consider those points used.

hey...thanx for the quick response...i really love these boards...you know that you can always count on someone to give a quick answer...

Good point. But here's one clarification. You cannot use Reservation Points (from a cancelled non-DVC reservation) for the World Passport Collection.

The World Passport Collection requires DVC points because DVC needs to deposit 1-week DVC reservations with Interval International for timeshare exchanges. But if you previously booked something from the Disney Collection or the Concierge Collection, corresponding DVC inventory has already been turned over to CRO to pay for your non-DVC reservation.
