Cancellation Chances?

I booked resort and dining reservations when free dining was announced over a month ago. However, we have been trying to figure out flights since then ($$$).

Last night we booked our flights and now I need to change 2 ADRs. The most difficult in the world- Ohana dinner and Crystal Palace 8:15am breakfast.

What are my chances for cancellations if I check back consistently? (Labor Day weekend, Free Dining... ugh)

How many are in your party? Also, there is usually a cancelled ADR thread on here for each month so I would definitely locate that for the month you are visiting and start following it. People post on there what they are cancelling and you can sometimes coordinate to get their cancelled reservation. Good luck!!! Also, you have PLENTY of time!

Your chances will probably be better once Aug/September comes. Even when you get there, I would keep trying. Especially since those 2 ADRs you now need to leave a credit card. Most people who won't use the ADR will most likely cancel since they wouldn't want to be charged the $10pp fee.

I would keep checking though, we did a last minute trip last year 4th of July weekend and I was able to get the harder to get ADRs, before the cc fee, by checking a few times a day.

I don't think you'll have a problem AT ALL! Just keep checking at different times throughout the day on the website. I have had luck checking at all different times and I also even scored a LeCellier reservation last year by keeping an eye on the cancelled ADR thread. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. Trying to get Ohana on any night we're there and haven't had any luck. I check several times a day hoping that something will open up. Maybe we'll have a better chance around the 45 day mark when trips have to be paid off.

Can you tell I'm anxious? I keep bumping the August cancellation thread! The worst part of it is I was online making ADRs first thing in the AM on my 180 day mark and was able to book Ohana. A couple days later I got a call from Disney saying there was an issue with their system and it allowed me to book when there really wasn't any openings.

We'll be there from 8/22 - 8/30 and there's 5 of us.
