Canceling the Dining Plan at check-in?

Can we let the front desk know when we check-in next Monday that we've decided not to do the dining plan, or do we need to cancel ahead of time?

Hmmm...I thought you had to cancel that 45 days ahead of time in order to not pay a penalty.

Look at your info from Disney. Since it's a package, it should mention any cancellation penalties in the fine print.

We are DVC members, so we get the dining plan that way...not with a package. But thank you.

That makes a difference! You might want to ask this on the DVC board, too.

Since you don't pay for the dining plan until check-in, I would think you could cancel, although you may have to do it prior to check-in . But as a pp mentioned, try posting this on the DVC boards and maybe also call MS....they should be able to give you an answer .

I'm pretty sure that for DVC members you have to cancel the dining plan at least 5 days in advance of your arrival. I do know that you CAN NOT cancel it at check-in.

I would call MS and cancel immediately.

I did as a pp suggested & posed this question on the DVC board. A moderator told me I have to cancel within 48 hours of check-in, so that gives me a couple of days.
