Help!
I have a breakfast reservation for Bon Voyage Candlelight Processional package, but we are leaving that day and will not be able to go to the CP. I have called Disney Dining and asked to modify to remove the CP, but keep the table reservation and the cm told me that she couldn't do that unless a new Bon Voyage reservation without the CP opened up. Has anyone ever experienced any luck in modifying a reservation in this way? Suggestions?

The cast member on the phone is correct.

You should look for a new, available reservation for Bon Voyage breakfast. When you book it, the system will give you the chance to cancel the first one and book the new one.

Thank you. Bon Voyage is sooo hard to find. Is there any chance that Trattoria will modify the reservation when we get there?

Yes, this. You will need to look for a new reservation without the CP package. If you can't find one and you really want to eat at Bon Voyage, you could still go with the CP package and perhaps gift your CP vouchers to someone. Not the most cost effective way to eat there, but it may be your only option if another ADR doesn't pop up.

Doubtful. They don't want guests booking the CP package as a way to get a regular reservation. Allowing people to make this change would be a big loophole.

That makes sense. I am so upset because a friend picked it up as a regular reservation. She canceled it and I picked it up. She had a regular reservation and when she released it, it only became available with the CP package. :(

Two years ago I got a horrible respiratory infection while we were at WDW. We had a Candlelight package at Chef's of France. My DH was fine but I was coughing constantly & had no appetite from the cold medicines I was taking. We kept the ADR because my husband was hungry for the full meal. But I was only up to soup, and didn't think I'd be able to stay in the park for the show. When we ordered I asked the waitress if we would be able to just order off the menu & cancel the Candlelight package, or if we were obligated to pay for the package. She said that was no problem at all. I had soup & salad, my DH had a salad & entree. We did not pay the package price, just for what we ordered. She was very nice about it & knew the answer right away, didn't have to go ask about it. So I don't think it was the first time she had that happen.

I think you should ask at the restaurant OP. You may be able to just order & pay for what you want & not take the CP tickets. I know it was a different restaurant, but I don't think it will be a problem.

This is so helpful to hear! I think we may take our chances and try just this! Thank you so much! :)

Good Luck.
But you are not sick. You just don’t want the ADR you made. Let s know.

That was my thought. Are you planning to have the whole family fake coughing and sneezing? There is a difference between someone obviously sick and someone trying to game the system.

My apologies- I realize that my reply sounded like we would fake being sick. I did not intend that at all. What I meant was that I may ask the cast members at Trattoria if we could drop the CP package. I will likely do this several days before our dining reservation so that we will be within our cancellation window if dropping the CP package cannot be done. I would never fake being sick and I would definitely never ask that of my family. In the meantime, I will continue to search for a new reservation. I still have lots of time for things to open up, and if any of this doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be and we will eat somewhere else.

How many people are in your party? for $13 more per adult and $8 more for a kid, if I REALLY wanted to do this character meal I'd keep it and sure, talk to the server about your situation but be willing to pay the package price. It's a fixed price thing either way and not like the previous poster who was sick and couldn't even eat her meal let alone sit up for the show. Yes you pay a bit more, for a family of 2 adults 2 kids it's $42 more. In the context of what I spend on a whole Disney vacation, if I messed up my adr but wanted to keep it I'd just pay the difference and not make it a deal killer. When is the next time you'll be back with the opportunity to do this breakfast? The cost of a whole other trip is way more than whatever the CP package premium is over a regular breakfast. I'd probably spread some pixie dust and try to give my passes away to some family too. Nice way to end the trip. :goodvibes
