OK..I could look this up, but a quick question. I am 60 days out from check-in today. My husband has colon cancer and is not going to be up to making this trip...can I cancel today?

Yes. If you cancel within 30 days the points go into a holding account.

If you cancel today "no harm, no foul" . The next consideration is what to do with the points. Remember we have a shorter time to bank points now although we can do up to 100% during the entire period. You may want to bank them if you feel it will be awhile before you travel again.

I'm sorry to hear your husband has this challenge to face. It's not easy but it's something he can fight. Good luck to all of you. A WDW trip will be a nice reward when he's feeling better.

First thank you all for your thoughtful wishes.

I should have been a little more specific. Some of these poinhts for this trip are borrowed points from February 2009 use year. We borrowed in hopes of making a "LAST" trip for us as a family; DH, myself and DD's 8 & 16. DH has had colon cancer (originally diagnosed at stage 3C) for 5 years and it metasized 2 years ago to his lungs and liver. He is getting progressively getting worse, at least to a point where I don't think that he could physically make this kind of trip (especially, in the heat of summer and changing resorts from VBR to OKW to BCV). We are not giving up hope I just don't think that the trip will work out...... Can I call tomorrow and cancel this trip without having to put them in a "Holding Account", our check-in date is August 3?

The date that they go by is the check in date, and you are more than 30 days out, so, yes, you can cancel without the points being put in holding. The borrowed points will stay borrowed.

Best wishes.

Sorry to hijack your thread.
If the borrowed points stay borrowed and are now 2009 points, are they bankable or do they have to be used in the 2009 use year?

Borrowed points cannot be banked. They will expire at the end of the Use Year into which they were borrowed.

The way I read the post, some points were borrowed INTO the 2008 UY and had been February 2009 points. They must be used no later than January 31st, 2009.

Bobbi:)
