Canceling now?

Hey All!

We are 6 days out and thinking of canceling our trip.

It is our understanding that the points will not go in holding and the points that we borrowed from 2021 would be returned, right?

just went in to check it on my reservation and when I went into the final screen it states;

"Cancellation restrictions have been lifted for reservations arriving within the next 30 days. Vacation Points returned due to a Resort reservation cancellation will not be placed in a holding account and will be returned to the current Use Year"

so make sure it says that before clicking on the box and you should be fine

"I have read and agree to the terms and conditions.*
Use the scroll bar to read through all the terms and conditions. Then, check the checkbox to agree."
 
Please keep us updated on if you can cancel online or had to call to ensure that your points were appropriately returned.

I just cancelled a cash stay for Christmas week :( and am glad it was easy to do since it was a hard thing to say goodbye to our holiday trip.
 
I had to cancel recently and I just used the Chat option online. The points went back to "wherever" they came from. 🤣 I could have done it myself but I liked the extra confirmation from the CM online.
 

Yes, I was able to do it, everything went back the way it should, and then no issue rebooking a new reservation! Thank you!!!
 
I see your points are back in the original year right away, but it took my points a few days to be sorted back into the original use year. Not a problem as I'd read somewhere they're doing it on certain days of the week.
 
Just make sure you are not past your banking window.

Then they will have to be used before your next use year or you will lose them.
