Since there are certain days on my trip where which park we might do is up in the air, and my 180 days is coming up next week, I am probably going to overlap some dining reservations to be safe. Am I able to then cancel reservations just by logging into my Disney.go account and doing it online, or do I have to call to cancel?

You won't be able to overlap ADR's.
There must be a certain amount of time between them.
You can cancel ADR's online or on the app though.
No need to call.
Make sure you cancel them by the night before though.

I'm more so referring to overlapping same day dining reservations at different parks for similar time frames, but good to know about overlapping actual times.

From the WDW website:
Dining Reservations – Frequently Asked Questions

Q.
Can I book more than one reservation for the same meal period?

A.
No. Guests are not permitted to book dining reservations within 2 hours of another reservation. This constraint helps us provide you with the most choices and availability when making your dining plans.

If, due to unusual circumstances, you need to book 2 separate reservations within 2 hours of each other, please call (407) WDW-7933 or (407) 939-7933.

You cannot book two reservations within 2 hours of each other. Not sure what you were thinking of for similar timeframes, but you won’t be able to do anything closer than 2 hours apart.

ETA: @Queen of the WDW Scene, you beat me to it! :)

Actually I can technically overlap, because one of my friends that I will be with has a separate account with a separate hotel reservation ;-), but thats besides the point. The main point of the post though is, can I cancel reservations online through the My disney experience website or do I have to call to cancel?

Like I said you don't have to call.

BTW if you're friend is going to make ADR's for overlapping times then you'll have to make sure she is creating new managed friends and family because if she picks real people that you've already made ADR's for its not gonna work.
And vice versa for you. You'll have to ensure that you are not choosing your friend's real profile to make an ADR under your account or she will get a message saying she can't make an ADR for herself because she is already part of one unless she removes herself from it.
Much more hassle than its worth in my opinion.
Choose what parks you want to go to and make your ADR's.
If you have to change something well then you'll just have to deal with it later.
Why make things all complicated?????

It is really not that complicated. You just make the ADR and do not list who the other guests are. You do not need to select friends or family.

Given that Disney is not releasing even base park hours at 180+ I can see how someone would want to book multiple things at 180+ and change them once they know park hours.

OP you can cancel online/through the app. No need to call.

dining reservations within 2 hours of another reservation.
I could have sworn when i was making my past April reservations that when i wanted to book 2 with in a close timeframe It was more of within an hour of each other - so booking one to start at 5:00 and then next i could book at 6:00.

I actually just tested and was able to book a 5:35 reservation and then a 6:45 - so you can at least book fairly close times and then figure out your plans as the park hours are released.

Well I didn't pick that number from thin air. It states it directly on the WDW website so I guess you could call and let them know they have bad info.

Not doubting your information, but just wanted OP or anyone else to know what time frames do work, if necessary. I wasn't sure if it was a glitch on my last trip/ADR.

This is one reason why we get park hoppers that way we can make reservations at any restaurants we want. We do attempt to coordinate our park visits with the reservations we have made but we find that we eat a lot of our meals at Epcot. Just a thought

No wonder some guests can’t get any restaurants they want if they aren’t making up fake names and multiple accounts. Disney needs to fine tune this system. Maybe like the fast pass where ADRs must be linked to tickets.

Yes. It is enough to make me (almost) wish Disney would charge $50 every time you made an ADR. And either apply it to your meal or refund it to a Disney gift card only.

I'm still a month away from making any ADRs, but since Disney is releasing hours 180 days ahead, one day at a time, is it really going to be THAT different from one week to the next? If you plan your ADR based on the hours released for the week before your trip, surely it won't be that far off?

Park hours are never set in stone. Waiting for them to be is a fool's game. How many posters book ADRs for what they think is park opening, only to have the hours change a month ahead of time? Booking multiple ADRs you have no intention of using is not ok. Make you best guess and then book what fits.
