canceling days

Im in the process of trying to change our dates around a little--


so far I have 4 nights booked --then a day waitlisted then another 6 nights which if the one waitlist night comes through Ill be cancelling 5 of those nights

so now my question is either way Ill be cancelling some nights

waitlist comes through I cancel the last 5

if it doesnt I cancel the first 4 nights and keep the rest

as long as I cancel 31 days before checkin those points will go right back into my bank to be used at some point later in time--

they wont go to holding or any other place that has restrictions on them

this is just getting rather crazy--my goal since I bought the gold pass that has blackout dates starting 4-08-17 we check out on the 10th

so Im trying to avoid upgrading for just 2 days and try and get the days before the blackout


so what it comes down to as long as I cancel whatever days I dont need by the 31 day before checkin my points will go back into my bank

Im sorry for all my questions and unsureness --I never thought it would be this hard to rebook a trip after cancelling do to illness--Im just trying to avoid any problems later on

31 days or more and the points go back to into your account with the same status that they had. If regular, they stay regular, if banked or borrowed, they are still banked of borrowed. You can send MS an email from the member website to cancel days, you don't have to call.

Also just to add onto what Bill said if you are past your banking window when you cancel (i.e. In the last four months of your UY) you will also have to use any current points before your UY ends (not just borrowed or banked.)
