Canceling a trip what happens to my points..

Ok I have a October use year. I used all my 2012 points and borrowed some 2013 point for a trip in September 2013. If I cancel what happens to my points as far as banking and when would my borrowed points have to be used by.

The borrowed 2013 points will remain in your 2012 use year and will need to be used for stays prior to October 1, 2013. Banking and Borrowing are final transactions.

The 2012 points....

If you cancel the September reservation before your banking deadline (May 31, 2013), those points are returned to normal status and can be banked.

If you cancel after May 31, and prior to 30 days before the check-in date, those points return to normal status, but must be used prior to October 1, 2013.

If you cancel 30 days to 1 day before check-in date the points go into holding status, basically, in your particular situation, again meaning they have to be used prior to October 1, 2013.

If you cancel day of check-in, all points are considered used and will be lost.

Borrowed points never go back to their original year. They would have to be used by September 30, 2013 (date of stay).

Sorry I didn't see that chuck had already answered that. Another question though if I'm planning a trip for October 2014 I know I'll be able to use my leftover banked points from 2013. But can I borrow from 2014 and 2015 since I will be going in my 2014 use year. I have an October use year.

Take the UY your trip falls in. You can borrow from the next UY moving the borrowed points into the trip UY. Once moved they can not be moved back.

If you are planning a trip for October 2014, that will be in your 2014 use year. You can use any banked 2013 points, current points (2014 points) and borrow 2015 points.

Any points banked from 2012 into 2013 will have to be used up by September 30, 2014.
