My wife and I found out that we were expecting approximately 9 weeks ago. The doctor gave us a due date of December 24. This date falls right in the middle of our trip (12.21 - 12.26). I canceled our trip on May 14th as I didn't expect my wife wanting a mouse delivering our second child. However, as of a few days ago we had a miscarriage. side note: I am truly sorry and feel for anyone has gone through something like this.

However, I wanted to re-book our trip exactly as I had it two weeks ago. I called today and was told that since I was over 15 days from cancellation they could not reinstate my reservation. I booked a bounce-back offer during our October 2018 trip and the discounts I received then cannot be applied now.

Any advice from the Disboard Dis-masters? Should I give up all hope on getting back what I had and wait on fall discounts?

Thanks for your insight.

Very sorry for your loss.

Call, explain the situation, and ask. They can see your vancelled reservation, and especially if you explained why, the CM might be able and willing to help you.

If that CM can't, ask to have your request escalated to Guest Services.

I wish I could help. I’m in a similar position. We have a July trip planned. It is a bounce back package. My final payment, and final cancellation date, is rapidly approaching. My mother is terminally ill with cancer. I have no idea if she will be alive at the end of July. If so, I would need to stay home. If she is no longer with us, my daughter and I feel we would like to keep our vacation. Life has been very difficult for us all since my mother’s diagnosis last month. A vacation is much needed, and Disney is our “happy place.” I have no idea what to do. I have called to see if I can switch to room-only, but that option isn’t available. I guess I will just keep it, and pay it using a credit card that offers vacation insurance. I’ve never had to use the vacation insurance offered by my credit card, but I’ve read the terms carefully, and my situation definitely meets the criteria.

I’m sorry for the miscarriage you and your wife experienced. I hope you can figure out a solution to your dilemma.

As others have said, call back and ask to speak with someone in Guest Services and explain the situation to them. A regular phone CM agent could not help you in this situation. I'm so very sorry for your loss and I hope some pixie dust comes your way.

Wow I could have written this! I was nine weeks pregnant this time last year and had a miscarriage. We also canceled our WDW trip and rebooked. So happy to see you were able to rebook. Losing a pregnancy is such a unique grief. Having a WDW trip to look forward to helped me through some dark days <3 Hopefully it does the same for you!

Glad you got it back. I had a miss carriage and went on to get pregnant again several months later and have a sassy, funny sweet 10 year old. I’m sorry for your loss.

Just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you for all you are going through with your mother. :sad1:

GOT IT BACK...

Thanks for the happy thoughts and all the pixie dust.

Third times a charm.

AI was just checking back to see if you have been able to get the reservation back. I am so glad you did!

Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss, and hope that an escape to WDW gives the two of you an opportunity to heal.
