Canceled our trip :(

:flower3: If it would make you feel better ,I just want to let you know you are not alone. :flower3:

We also cancelled our trip a few months ago ...we would have been there in less than 2 weeks from now.It was my 50th Birthday present to myself. I'm sad :sad2:(that's why I'm on the Disboards right now). I also know there is always next year and more time to save up and go next year, without feeling guilty. Hope you'll feel better about having to cancel!

I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip, but I think you should be happy with yourself that you made a wise decision.

I had a trip canceled on me -- was at work ready to take the train to the airport only to have gone to check-in online and see my flight was canceled. Snow storms canceled many flights and I couldn't get a replacement flight for 2 days which was pretty useless b/c the WDW trip was only 5 days/4 nights. Talk about disappointing as my sorry butt went to work the next day.

Our trip isn't until Nov. 29th, but already I'm feeling like it isn't right to take it. We were just there in Feb. and we really enjoyed it and since then I've been saving all my pennies and money from a garage sale to go back to see WDW decked out for Christmas. I got the free dining and it's a reasonably priced trip, but it seems like now I can't justify going back again within a year's time. I'm thinking that I'll get the kids a Wii with the new Toy Story Mania for Christmas instead. I wouldn't have done both, so maybe they'll be just as happy playing a Disney game at home. :confused3

Maybe you could go next year at that time. Then, your trips are further spaced and you will still get to see Disney at Christmas. You'd also have time to save more in case the price isn't the same.

Great minds must think alike as this is what I thought of, too! I'll still have my cold cash (I keep my sugar bowl money in the freezer!:lmao:) so I can add some here and there and not have to worry about feeling guilty when the time rolls around next year. Tell me it isn't so bad to wait a year...

Thanks for the commiseration. DH and I are going to try to bring in extra money to save for the trip and try to get there in May, before the summer crowds hit.

OP do you have a disney visa card?

My DH has his own business also. He was using a Marriot Reward card to accumulate hotel points. Fall of last year, I talked him into switching to a Disney Visa. Anything (both business and personal) that can be charged to that card is. We pay the balance off in full each month. Sometimes depending on the job and household expenses, I am making payment each week to keep an available balance open.

If you can faithfully commit to paying the balance off each month, it is like getting a free vacation. I have to pay these bills each month anyhow, so why not get something back for doing so.

We don't use debt, and don't use credit cards. Thanks for the idea, though. :)
