After living in AR our whole lives and taking our Disney vacations every year, we just up and moved!! My husband is a teacher and sent in applications all summer and got a call one month before school started. We put our house on the market and it was sold in 2 days. He now works in an elementary school as a PE teacher with NO coaching duties for more money. Off every evening and weekend. YAY!!! We live in Mt Dora (great town) with FL resident WDW passes and we are there every single weekend. The only regret I have is the $2K we had just spent in June on our Disney vacation, LOL.

Somebody posed a question a while back. How much money have you spent at Disney over the last 10 yrs. And in most cases it was a, not so small fortune. Buying a second house that is nearby will likely save you money in the long run. It was probably a smart move.

Last year we offered the kids Williamsburg, VA and D.C.; Disney; or Miami. No hesitation, after all these years of Disney, it was Orlando and Disney they wanted.

That's funny! I guess it dosen't work like other places. We live 20 miles from DC. I can see the Capital building and monuments out my window at work. I have no desire to go into DC.

LOL. We live in Nevada and hate to gamble. We love to ski though and do so all winter, despite being able to see the mountains from my back patio.

This will be our full time home got it for a STEAL so if we want we can buy a small place an still summer here in Barely IN

We are retiring the day before Thanksgiving the lady we buyin house from wants to stay in the house till just after Thanksgiving so that is falling in place really well! The community we buying in has a house for us to use the 2 weeks we down there in Oct to finishing buying 2 weeks for 250.00 fully furnished with washer an dryer an we get to use the community pool an everything get to know our new neighbors etc. We can leave our car there in the RV storage lot fly home till just after thanksgiving an take the truck loaded with what we can get in it that can get wet if it rains pull the harley on the trailer that we already own. House we buying is furnished.... we can stay in the house clean an paint etc ride over to Tampa just before christmas got a friend with a garage that has offered use of her garage for the harley an to take us to airport we fly home for christmas load the stuff we moving to florida in Uhaul an head down right after Christmas. Which will allow my DD to move in over the Christmas holidays she'll have at least before she has to return to work. Once we get the Uhaul unloaded next day DH takes me to my friends house an gets on the harley rides home an I drive back. This could not work out any better for us!

My DD is buying my house but I think when I come back for visits I will stay with an aunt who has plenty of room an is a great country cook!

Congrats. I lived 10 minutes from Dl for 29 years of my life. Fom age 15 to age 29 I went one time. Since I moved out of Cali I go once a year. I hope you can still enjoy it when its in you back yard. Enjoy your new home.

Lake Wales is my dad's hometown, so I'm familiar with it. Congratulations on the upcoming move!

Dyna a suggestion if I may, check into renting a Budget moving truck, they are a lot cheaper than Uhaul with dealerships everywhere. I moved to Sebring (40 miles south of Lake Wales) from Ft Lauderdale. The truck rental was less than $130 for moving 150 miles away. We had the truck for 2 days but returned it after 1 because that's all we needed it for. It was unlimited miles. Just a suggestion also google codes for Budget Trucks I'd found one for 20% off. I like the seats better than uhaul but Budget trucks do not have the storage space over the cab roof that Uhaul has though we've never needed it. Good luck with the move and welcome to FL!!
