Cancelation question? ok make that Questions

my husband just called and canceled resort res. for April as we booked the passholder savings rate for the same dates Friday night. (First res. was made in Jan) my question is, when you call and cancel, do they give you any kind of confirmation # for the cancelation? and how long does it take for them to refund your credit card? and will it show online the cancelation? if so when?

You won't get a cancellation confirmation number and if you paid a deposit for the first resort it will be applied to the deposit for your new resort. We had POFQ booked for a week in May but then when the AP rates come out we switched to AKL. The deposit we had paid for POFQ covered the deposit for AKL so we didn't need to pay anything else towards a deposit and the ressie confirmation number was the same for AKL as it was for POFQ. I'm not sure if the cancellation will show online but I would assume that only the new ressie would show, if it shows two resorts for the same dates than you might have a problem but as long as the new resort is showing I would think that would be fine.
