What if ressies are made and they need to be changed/modified before thirty days? Do the points just stay where they are until you bank or use?

Thinking of attempting to make a ressie in December for a few nights, but may need to change it based on how DD's sports team performs.

You can make changes or cancel without any penalty at all at 31 + days out. If you borrowed however, those points do stay in the year you borrowed into, and banked points stay banked as well.

It wouldn't hurt to see what's available and what you think you COULD do, and hope you're lucky with your guesses. Otherwise, just wait until you do know.

I mentioned that we bought and were able to make the weekend WVL December ressies. We were going on a cruise out of Miami, and after buying into DVC in the fall, we just couldn't bear to be in Florida and not go see/stay in the accomodations we waited so long to buy into. So, we did know the dates we wanted, we just had to change our air to accomodate our dates. I can imagine that you'll be just as happy as we were to make use of the points you're purchasing.

As long as you cancel at least 31 days prior to arrival, the points are returned to your account with the same status they had just before the reservation was made.

If you used current year points for the cancelled reservation, they may be banked subject to banking deadlines. If not banked or used, they expire at the end of the use year.

If you used banked or borrowed points, they will still be banked or borrowed points and will expire at the end of the current use year if not used before then.

If you used holding account points, they will still be holding account points and still will have the same restrictions on use that they had before the reservation was made.

Best wishes -
