Hi, I was going to look into the CFAR insurance-If I rent points through someone, what do they do, ask for proof of payment? Also, can anyone recommend a company? I know I can search the internet for best reviews, etc., but if someone has had good experience with a company, I'd appreciate any tips on it, or suggestions, thank you!!

All travel insurance policies have the rules and regulations to them so you want to be sure that you understand if there are any exclusions or special rules to them for things like a DVC rental, regardless of whether you do it through a broker or private owner,

I’d also be sure that you understand all the Ins and out of renting as many found themselves in a situation this year that wasn’t ideal.

Good luck.

I had to file a CFAR claim last month. I had to show original payment and booking date, front page of insurance policy, info on how much I was reimbursed if any and non refundable amount, and proof of cancelation date. I only had to say I waa canceling under CFAR with no further info. I received 60% of my non refundable deposit back.

Be sure to research coverage thoroughly because it may not offer as much as it leads you to believe. Mine was through Nationwide.

Echoing those who say to check exclusions carefully before buying. Even CFAR policies often exclude Acts of God, including storms & pandemics. FWIW, it might be less expensive to just book directly with Disney for cash. Disney has fairly friendly cancellation policies.
