Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone has used "Magical Express" (canadians).I wanted to know if luggage was picked up by disney at airport,or because we are considered international, we must claim our own baggage, and then we board the bus and we bring the baggages with us.How about the magical express tags how long before trip do we get these ? and how many do we get? Thanks!!!

I was also wondering the same question. They only seam to ask the question about your bags when you check in but customs/imagration may also ask.

Maybe we should ask this question on the transportation board.

I'd like to know too!

I'm not 100% sure but from all the posts I have seen so far this is what I have figured out.

If you don't do US Customs in your home Airport (ie Toronto Pierson) you will be clearing them in Orlando. (I did that part last year..so I know that is true)

You will have to get your luggage to clear Customs and put it on another conveyor belt which will take it to the Main Terminal/Baggage Clain...while you take the Monorail ( :) ) over. (AT least you will know your luggage arrived with you)

Now is where the Magic Express is suppose to happen. You go down to Baggage Claim and look for the CM with the Mickey Hand and get directed to the check in for the bus to your resort. Your luggage is suppose to Magically get found and picked up by the CMs and delivered to your resort, eventually.
I don't know if they will let you take your luggage if you arrive really early...I guess you could ask if you can't fit everything you need for the day into your carry on.

Having said that, if you are arriving late in the day you should go get your luggage and bring it with you on the bus. (Seems to be what people are doing if they arrive after 5pm. And I have read that the CMs have also suggested that to some guests)
________
I think everything should arrive at your home 3 weeks before. But you might get part of it before that. I'm not sure if it depends on full payment being made first. (Would make sense that they want all your Money before they send you stuff)

Oh, and I think you are only suppose to get one tag per person...but you never know.

I will know the answers to all of these questions by Sept 3 since I will already be in WDW. And my final Payment is going to be made July 15 which is earlier than Disney requests. Which probably won't help anyone because you are most likely travelling before me.

Well, I thought I would try.

I think more the issue is coming back to Canada. If when you leave the resort and get back on the bus you leave your luggage behind and they take it to the airport!!! how do you get your luggage?

Don't forget when you check in for a flight the CSR always asks if you pack your bags yourself and if you have been with them the entire time since packing?

I've seen this too. I surf the boards alot.

I believe that most of our Airlines up here are not part of the Express Service on the way home. If it is, you do all that "pack you bag yourself" at the hotel in the lobby/Check in area somewhere. Then they take it right into the airport for you and you go straight to Security because you are already checked in.

Most people will NOT be this way because I read it was only a few main airlines. You take your luggage with you on the bus just like if you used Mears to get you to the Hotel in past years. And when you get there they will unload you luggage and you go through a normal checkin process.

The only 2 hitches I have read about this when you take your own luggage because you can't checkin at the Hotel for your return trip is that they drop you off in the Middle of the Departures area which may not be close to your airline check in. But since most luggage have wheels now adays it's not that much of a problem.

And the other is to leave EARLY for the trip home. They have to make a few stops at other hotels and sometimes the buses have not been coming for pickups at scheduled times. Some Americans have been really close to missing their planes.

Hopefull some nice Canadian will tell us all the details in this link..or we are going to need to find a trip report. (Maybe we need a trip report thread just for Canadians like the UK section of the board has)

We are leaving from Burlington Vermont, flying with jetblue. I was wondering something, we will drive in the night before so how do I go about? I assume I am now travelling WITHIN the U.S.. I pass customs when we cross the borders with our car right?

I usually leave FROM montreal, and I am a little anxious about this? How do I go about once I arrive in Orlando? Do I head straight to DME clerks?

I am a little confused and would like feedback from experienced Canadians....

I asked the United Employee who deals with Air Canada at the Orlando airport if CDN's flying on Air Canada could use the magical Express. He said no, as Air Canada is not yet on the list. I thought maybe because of the 'partnership' with United they would be included. He said maybe in the future...

I have driven to Burlington, Vt. and flown from there. Yes you go through customs in your car and that's it. You do not have to worry about it again until you drive to the border on your way back.

What if you go thorugh Detroit instead of Pearson. How does that work? I mean you clear custom at the border in Detroit :confused3

I'm going through Boston from Halifax in 23 Days (WOOO HOOO!). Since we will go through customs and changing planes in Boston, we told DME that we will be arriving from Boston. That seems to be OK when I spoke to the CM.

BTW - We are flying Delta.

We used the ME in May. We flew from Toronto to Orlando. No, we didn't have to claim our own luggage. We received our tags a couple days before our trip but we went in May when ME just started and they were late sending out the tags... I think you're supposed to receive your tags a week or two before your trip now. We got 2 tags per person.

Anyway, ME was great and we would definitely use it again on our next trip. Hope this helps. :)

Great news ! Thanks a bunch!

We just used Magical Express on June 25th, flying in from Ottawa. Despite having confirmed our flight over a month in advance we never received our tags.

Thankfully this did not cause us any problems and once at Orlando Intl., we picked up our checked luggage and headed to the magical express desk where they were issued to us within 5 minutes. We were at POFQ about twenty minutes later!

Did you take your luggage on the bus or was it delivered to your room?

If delivered, when did it arrive? Thanks.

Since arriving from Canada, we did not have the resort bagage delivery option (that is the information given to us by a CM over the phone!). We took our luggage with us on the bus !

Our luggage was delivered to the resort. We checked in at the resort at around 3pm and then headed out. When we returned at around 8pm, our bags were waiting in our room.
