Canadian Tickets- expiry

I just wanted to have written proof of what the current value is of the ticket that's visible to me. Yes it will no longer be visible to us after the expiration date and yes it will still be attached to our accounts to apply to any other form of ticket media either over the phone or on-site whenever we're ready to go.

I used the 1-888 number, put the phone on speaker and carried it around while i sewed!!

This is what they sent me be email so it would be good to archive whatever you can that would constitute "order details":

In the situation that you are unable to utilize the ticket prior to its expiration, we can apply the price paid for a completely unused ticket towards a new Walt Disney World ticket in the future, subject to restrictions.

When you are ready to use the value of your unused ticket towards a new Disney Theme Park Ticket, we will need to confirm order details. We invite the purchaser to contact Walt Disney World Ticketing directly by calling 407-566-4985 option 4. Our office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven (7) days a week. Please have your order confirmation that we may discuss your options with you.

I used the 1-888 number (thank you to whomever posted this valuable info!) also, but the CM I got wouldn’t send me any email when I asked for one. I will try to call again this week to speak to someone else.

I've been thinking about this and debating whether or not to spend the time to call again. Even if we have an email in hand saying that our tickets are worth $$AA there is nothing saying Disney can't change their mind again and only be willing to give us $$BB when we are ready to apply the value to new tickets. They hold the power in this transaction.

I think I may just stick with the ballpark # they have given me and whatever I get when I get new tickets will be. Another huge part of my thinking is I just can't be bothered right now to get myself worked up over a few $. A few too many other much more important things going on in my life at the moment.

For me, I want that email to confirm that the “value” of all four of my soon-to-be expired tix will be applied towards a future ticket purchase, especially because the tickets will disappear from MDE after expiry. If they were to remain in MDE, I wouldn’t be as concerned.

Here is the address I sent my "I'm disappointed in you" email to:
wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

They replied after 3 or so weeks with what I posted previously.

I had called twice over the 2020/2021 period months to reconfirm the 2030 dates on my flexible date Canadian tickets since we had to rebook (which I paid extra for at the time to get flexible date ones) and both times they said "yes definitely 2030 is the new expiry date " --- when August 2021 hit and they changed the dates to Sept 2021 --- it was --- 'yeah we see the calls where we promised you 2030 in our previous conversations but that's no longer the case." To be honest if a WDW rep said that the sky was blue at this point I wouldn't trust a thing they say, ever --- and would ask for it in writing.

To be honest I'm not sure they would honour it even if it was in writing. I'd used these tickets to actually book May 2022 dates. That was in writing. Just hoping I can get the credit applied easily over the phone and not be surprised with a requirement to be there in person.

I'd used the tickets for a re-booking in March 2022 (had an on-site club level room reserved and the park days reserved with the tickets too) and they basically said "so sad, too bad" when I called to ask why I received emails saying they planned to cancel the park days.

I think at that point I realized that the company I'd always thought cared about customers... really they don't AT ALL. When I say in writing I mean having someone say in an email/txt/online discussion that you can provide documentation for saying --- "yeah they're good" --- the reps all said they saw that they had confirmed the 2030 validity. It didn't matter AT ALL. Planning and booking to stay is not anywhere near a written confirmation.

But with new Disney management I realistically think they just don't care AT ALL regardless of anything their customer reps say/confirm. That's the problem.

Even if it was in writing and Disney decided to change the rules you would have to take them to court to enforce it. Is all that really worth it. I would just plan on spending my vacation money elsewhere if I was really bothered about it. Cut your trip short so that you're not out of pocket any additional money on the tickets, use the tickets and then head elsewhere.

Disney holds the balance of power in this instance. They could have decided to not even give us the value attached to the tickets once they expire (ie Universal tickets). In their minds I think they are considering themselves to be very generous by allowing us to apply the "value" to a future ticket purchase.

I am in the same boat as everyone on this thread. I'm just not going to get upset about all of it. Everyday life is so much more important.

So, tell me there isn't any need for me to call disney about these tickets then? I really don't want to deal with this.
aabsolutely no need to call! I needed to since I had no documentation about my ticket that's accessible to me a completely unique situation that's not related to all of havoc created by covid-19. It is all connected to my botched trip thru Transat Travel with airmiles vouchers and their compensation was a credit I didn't want so turned into a Disney ticket. I had no ticket number, no email confirmation just it showing in my Disney account.

your ticket value is and will continue to sit in your account until you're ready to use it. Don't waste any energy on it until that point in time. Take care of yourself.

My tickets are Disneyland Canadian resident tickets bought with AirMiles which don’t expire until Dec 16, 2021(the extended date). I have the physical tickets and because they weren’t bought through Disney, they would have no record if it. So I will call closer to the expiration date to see if I have any options. I chatted in the app about a month ago and was told they would hold their value to be exchanged at the park. Which obviously doesn’t work when you need park reservations. Hoping I can at least upgrade over the phone as they seem to be offering for WDW.

Called the 407 number and the CM was unwilling to adjust the dates of my tickets. only offered the credit. I explained I would not be happy with just the base credit as I purchased the tickets because of the Canadian resident discount. I explained that I had heard of Canadians being able to push there dates in leu of the credit and asked who would be able to do that for me. I'm now on hold with ticketing. 70 min in. We will see how this goes.

I haven't heard of anyone being able to change the date of their tickets, only a few even getting a refund of any type. Good luck

Did you not post "I could have had the expiry date of my ticket changed to February 2023 but park reservations only go up to January 12th so we didn't do that."?

Literally on the phone because of the line you posted.

We will see what happens. Both cast members who forwarded me uses the working "I'm not able to do it, but ticket escalation will be able to help you out". So if they knowingly put me in a 3 hour cue for no reason I won't be to pleased.
