Canadian in UK

Hello from Canada! I'm planning my family trip to the UK and I have a few questions I hope you can help me answer.

There are several sites around Stonehenge that I would like to see....Woodhenge, sacred sites, etc.,. so I think I'll need to rent a car. Is there another way to getting around in the area? Bus, cycle?
