Does anyone think they may come out with a Canadian discount? With our dollar being so weak it really raining on my parade!

Don't forget the 1 to 3% currency surcharge on your credit card.

Our trip was super expensive as it was. We are staying at POP for 14 nights with 6 disney adults,2 real adults, 4 under 18, and decided to do the deluxe dining plan since it's our daughters grad trip and she loves signatures. It was a 16000 dollar trip plus over 3500 for flights. I know they have given Canadian discounts in the past. And at a 20% difference I'm looking at close to 4000 extra Canadian for my trip!!

The exchange rate is really starting to make me nervous. I just bought $100 US on Saturday and paid $123. Our July trip looks to be about $4000 so if the rates stay more or less the same we are really looking at $5000 and then there is still the food/spending money that needs to be exchanged. Come on Disney, give your Canadian friends a break with a nice discount. :thumbsup2

It's been clear for a while now that WDW is scaling back on the discounts. They said that's what was going to happen and it has.

We Canadians have not had any special deals, that went beyond extended dates, for many years. Last time was probably back when the exchange rate was more along the 40% range.

I seriously fear we are going to see those rates again. My DH is in banking and the concensus is that it'll continue to drop before it rebounds.

We are about at our personal limit at $1.23. I would look into canceling our Aug trip, but we've booked airfare. It adds up quickly for a family of 5!!

I check the exchange rate daily and it has been dropping daily for quite some time now. I expect it will continue to drop as well.

To compensate I booked my March Break trip through Orbitz which gave me an additional 20% discount on top of the RO discount that WDW was offering. I also linked onto Orbitz through Ebates which earned me an additional $40. Since then I did all my Christmas shopping online, linking through Ebates, and have earned more than what I paid in exchange on my WDW vacation.

BoC unexpectedly cut the overnight rate to 3/4% from 1%. Canadian $ dropped big time.

I'm not paying close to $1,000 more for the same vacation now. There are 36 of us booked for Disney and I'm seriously rethinking this trip at this point. We have till Feb 1st to decide. Wonder if a call to Disney would yield any results.

I hear you!! We end up paying rack rate even with a 30% discount. This has now added over $1000 to our 2015 trips - not included spending or meal money.

our November trip is book and pretty much paid for. also since we always get the dining plan lucky for us we don't have to spend any extra money on this trip

Perhaps we may see FD come the next round of Canadian discounts? There has to be a huge anticipated drop in Canadian bookings seeing the dollar hasn't been this low since April 2009 (fingers crossed lol).

Oh well, wishful thinking never hurts....

We have our trip booked for 2015 as well and I knew we wouldn't be at par but after the drop yesterday - wow...family of 6, we are looking at other options too...

We are booked for this September and j just hope it doesn't far much further. This is a huge bucket list trip for my mom and she is paying for a lot of it....we were able to get the "magical" deal for the poly, but we also have AKL and Clearwater and a few days at the end for US and more Disney (17 total)

Because of the deals it's not AS bad as it could be...it's the spending money when down there for food and souvineers etc.

Just made our final payment last Friday. I was scared to see the dollar go down any further. Spending will certainly be limited :(

We paid off both our March & Aug trips yesterday. We are already paying double the rate I had budgeted & it was either cancel or pay it off to avoid losing more money. I took a severe hit on my budget for spending money - gotta make up the extra $300 per trip somehow... Sigh...

Our trip is costing over 16000 American plus airfare. Weve already bought our plane tickets months ago so no backing out now. That's gonna add an extra 4-5 grand for this trip. I am struggling on what to do.

wow

how long are you staying and where that's an expensive trip?

our trip of 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant for 10 days at POFQ with dining plan is only costing us just over 5600$
