OKAY-so I just transferred $500 into my USD acct at the rate of $106.49
I nearly fell off my chair! Soooo I went back-to buy more! Now, moments later it's $110.90 UGH...it was a glitch! A BANK GLITCH in MY favour!~ LOL!

I am ticked at myself...what fun..for a moment!

$1500 got me $1342.28 at CIBC. Boy , the bank does take a nice chunk don't they! XE' s rate for $1500 Can was $1388 US (online). I know I have to factor in bank fees , but $46???

Just got back from the bank and $1000US cost me $1122.

At least it's better than when I had to pay off my balance and it was $1.17.

Yeah! Lucky about the glitch! So I've determined... it's better to transfer CND to USD with bank account, as when I went to exchange cash the other day, the bank was charging me an extra cent on the dollar (ten minutes after I exchanged from bank acct to bank acct).

And why is the dollar sleepy today? If it doesn't go up by Friday I'm not buying the DVC AP. That will be my decision, even if it makes no sense whatsoever.

I bought my annual passes last weekend. I know I could've held out longer. 2 adults and 2 kids came out to C$1683.51 from $1494.36US. I figure if the rumour holds true and they raise the prices then why take the chance? The increase in prices won't be enough to cover the increase in the dollar, you know?

When we went to exchange money we were told that BMO exchanges money at 'real-time' rates. The last time we exchanged money we paid 3 cents more on the dollar in the 5 minutes that we waited for them!!

4% is pretty normal charge for banks. Nobody gets BoC rates--- i wish we did! lol

Our final payment comes out tomorrow, too. A couple of days earlier than 45 days, just in case!

I've got a Windows "app" on my desktop that is tied into Xe.com and constantly displays the US$ to CAN$ conversion. Pretty cool and it enables my obsession

We just changed over 650 at the currency exchange for our trip on Monday, and we got 580. I assume they charge a fee. Oh well, we can use out cc if needed.

Gee I hope the dollar stays or keeps climbing for a little while.
We are doing the ABD trip next April and we can't pay yet.
We also have our DVC dues coming due in September.
We have a USD account and I will be going to the bank this week to add to it.

Well, August 11th was our deadline - but today I chickened out or got smart (time will tell) and paid off the trip. We'll have to see what rate Visa gives. It is still much better than when I budgeted the trip .85 cents. Now the question is do we buy US money now or wait until next month - probably a little bit at a time???
