Canadian Dollar

Whatever your package price is when you book and pay the $200 deposit, that is what you pay, regardless if the prices increase before you pay it off. No worries.:thumbsup2

Are you sure about that???
Because that is bad news for me, I booked a few monthes ago. The rate is better now. We go at the end of September, when it should be even better.
I thought that it goes through when you get there...

Not the exchange rate on the dollar, that changes by the minute, I was talking about the room/package rate that Disney charges. Whatever the rate was when you booked is what you pay to Disney in US dollars. That is locked in. What you pay to change your Canadian dollars to US dollars is whatever the day's rate is, no locking that in.

just paid our trip off today at .90
was hoping it would go a bit higher but...don't wanna risk it since it has to be paid by this weekend!
it cost us an extra $300 for the trip with the exchange. Oh well.
Can't complain because last year we got our whole trip at Par!

If the $ does go up to Par I'll be sure to buy some spending money...theres lots to buy at disney! :cool1:

I KNOW that no one really knows what will happen. You just cannot predict. BUT my friend works at CIBC and said the talk at their bank is that it is going to be really great by end of Aug./Labour Day time.Could even make par. So I am crossing my fingers and I will wait a bit. ...:confused3
I still owe about $600 on my cruise but have until Dec. to pay off.
I do know that if it keeps rising.... looks like more spending money and DVC that I have been waivering on looks even better. I will keep stalking the Xe website!!! It is becoming an addiction.:surfweb:

I bought 500 this morning at 92.4.

I sure wish it had been this high when I paid the balance of my trip on the 12th - We're talking like a savings of almost 140.00.

Keep going loonie - I'd love to see par before we leave!!!

I think I will go to the bank too!!! or pay off the balance on DCL.
((By the way, I am "Avery's Mom " too. DD is 11 :)

I just transferred into my USD account...my DD22 is off to School there this August..won't tell you what I saved because you would :scared1: But it's significant! Thank goodness for this break...

My 45 day pay-it-up is within the week...I have been hoping and praying...thrilled it has gained this much!!!

Glad to see it soarin:cool1: I, unfortunately, paid off ours when it was at 1.18, oh well, when you hit the 45 day mark, you really have no choice:rolleyes1 At least when I'm shopping there I know I got an unbelievable rate.....transferred into my USD account when it hit 1.08!!!!!!

$0.92504

TD is posting rate at $1.1079

Yesterday I bought at $1.1094

Still contemplating the DVC AP.....

Anybody know what it was at today?

I use the website Xe.com to check the rates.
I believe it was 92
You can go on the site and also convert $amts to various currencies. So if you miss the news etc you can check this whenever:surfweb:

A friend just told me that if you use a currency exchange instead of the bank you get a better rate because the exchange get paids by the bank not the customer.

Can anyone confirm this and if so where is there a currency exchange?

I was thinking about this too. I just checked the historical rates at the bank of Canada website, against my CC bills. The BMO card seems to consistently charge 3-4 cents more than the BoC rate. I thought it was more like 2.5%. Not much I can do about it, as if I don't use that card to pay off the trip it's not insured. But it'd be nice to get spending money elsewhere. Anyone get a good cash rate recently?

Barring that I guess I'll "analyse" our 3 cards and figure who gives the best rate, and use that one for all the incidentals. Also should check the debit machine I guess.

Does anyone actually use XE to purchase the US, and if so what are the fees that your bank charges to process the payment (wire transfer or the ACH fees)? Not sure if by the time you add the fees for processing the payments and also the fees to have a US account if it is worth the extra work, I know the credit cards charge an extra 2.5%

OKAY-so I just transferred $500 into my USD acct at the rate of $106.49
I nearly fell off my chair! Soooo I went back-to buy more! Now, moments later it's $110.90 UGH...it was a glitch! A BANK GLITCH in MY favour!~ LOL!

I am ticked at myself...what fun..for a moment!
