Canadian deal question

We are going for 4 days at the parks and one day at a waterpark and planned on buying 4, 7 day hopper passes and saving the remaining 3 days and 3 "plusses" for a future trip. This would cost $1876 Canadian (4 X 469). The new deal announced this week lets us buy 2 passes at $469 and 2 passes at $235. That totals $1416, a savings of $460. These special passes expire before we can go back. My problem is do we go for the never expiring passes or take the savings today and throw away the unused days? Is it possible to sell the unused days or does Disney frown on this? I think I know the answer but any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

Disney passes cannot be sold to anyone else. When deciding you also need to way the fact that the Canadian deal gives you all a character breakfast. If that is something you would be paying for anyway, this may be the way to go as you also will have 4 options to use if you have the time during this trip, and perhaps want to visit two water parks or Pleasure Island. These tickets do expire however. If you know that you are going back to WDW and can spare the extra cash to purchase the regular park hopper than perhaps that is the way to go.

Tony,

Given that you're only going to be there for 4-5 park days, the question I would ask is what would the cost of 5-day hopper plus passes be for you. I think that's a fairer comparison of whether or not the Canadian deal is, in fact, a deal. If the 5-day hoppers at regular price are more expensive than the deal, then the deal is more cost effective particularly, as Pooh says, you were going to do a character breakfast anyway. If the 5-day hoppers are cheaper, I would go that route - especially now that our kids are at an age where the character breakfasts aren't as important as in the past.

I'm firmly convinced that the Canadian deal is only a bargain if you're going to get 6-7 park days out of the passes, as it appears Sandra will get when they go down in April. For anyone else, I think you want to do the math before deciding.

If you've got the money to burn you could do one of two things: 1) Buy the 7-day (non-deal) hopper plus passes. The 7-day passes are always a good deal if you know you're going back, which is almost a certainty if you're a DVC owner. I'm sure the pass prices will rise before you get back again. 2) Pass the extra along to me for providing such invaluable advice. :D
