What are your thoughts on DCL's Canadian cruise? I live in New England so the thought of leaving from NY (no flights!) appeals to me. I want to go on a cruise with my elderly mom in the fall of 2021 and was wondering if (assuming that DCL will have Canadian cruises) Canadian cruise was worthwhile. Thank you!

We did a Disney Canadian Cruise in October 2017. We left New York and went to Prince Edward Island, Sydney, and Halifax. It was a beautiful time to sail because all of the leaves were in full color. The weather was cool and comfortable. There were mostly adult couples on the ship. If I recall there were only 400 children on that particular sailing. We barely saw any kids the whole cruise.

Generally, it was one of the most relaxing cruises that we have ever been on. The people at the ports were great - very friendly and helpful. We took an excursion at each port and really enjoyed them. We went to the Alexander Graham Bell museum at the Sydney port. It was quite a surprise and since we are science Geeks we really enjoyed it. We saw the Anne of Green Gables house in Prince Edward Island and really enjoyed it since I've read all of the books and seen both PBS series. Even my husband who never read an Anne of Green Gables book really enjoyed the homestead. In Halifax we toured the area and saw lighthouses and the Titanic cemetery.

Our cruise was a Halloween on the High Seas cruise and also had a Marvel Day at Sea. So even on our days at sea there was lots to do.

We only had one rough sea day on the way back to New York. The sea was rough enough that they closed Deck 4 - we couldn't walk outside.

All in all we enjoyed our Canadian cruise and would love to take another trip there sometime.

We enjoyed our cruise from NYC to Quebec. A couple of the ports were first time for Disney, relatively small towns and the people were SO excited to see us. The ship overnighted in Quebec so we had an extra day there. Beautiful! I wish the ships could go further down the St. Lawrence!

actually it was three new ports for Disney. Don’t know why they had a hard time fillling the ship. It was a great cruise and new ports.

If you are going in fall, I recommend you take a cruise that goes all the way to Quebec City (or better yet, Montreal). The fall colors along the St Lawrence River - incl. the Gaspe Peninsula - are eye-popping. More dramatic IMO than the Japanese cherry blossom in March/April!

NY/Boston to Quebec/Montreal in the fall are generally premium cruises, as it's a very short season, and there are few other places to go really. Disney struggles since families can't take a lot of time out of school that early - and the shorter cruises become a good compromise.

Quebec City is an awesome city - you'll love it! My DH and I spent a long weekend there for our 10th anniversary and we really enjoyed it - it reminded us a lot of Europe!

Thank you so much, everyone! my mom loves Disney ("They make me feel like a little girl again!") and the thought of fall cruise just sounded lovely :)
