Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

OMG! I won!!!!!!

You did!

Don't you already know my address from those surveilance devices you installed last year? :confused3

I haven't put them in the new place yet.

Wow! I totally missed the pkondz pilot special, I would almost be all over that but I'm not into Gin, although it was quite similar to that Mickey's Fun Wheel drink we had on my TR at the Cove bar.

A lot of people missed that one.

I was going to say hope you had a great Father's Day but from your update, it sounds like it might not have been all that great, sorry you weren't able to get much sleep and now to work a double, yuck!

It wasn't too bad. I got a nice FB post from Elle.

Darn! I missed that menu thing.

That and Luna's dog tag were the two tough ones.

Looking forward to hearing about Montreal.

Looking forward to reading about Montreal.

Coming up in a few days!

Looks like I had a great last round!

::yes::

Congrats to Alison! (As I slip down to 4th place...) I definitely missed some of those photos!

Apparently I'm taking a page from your book. We weren't going to take a family vacation this summer. So, where are we right now? Washington DC! Not sure if I'll do a trip report or not, but dh did take photos of our dinner last night...

Weather Kitty said it was 108 in Anaheim at around 1PM. It was only 97 in Long Beach so I was glad that I was there schlepping heavy boxes to the Thrift shop as opposed to frying in the sun with other overheated Disney fans. Must get out there next week and see New Soarin'.
I advise you to hit rope drop the stand by line was over an hour right after park opening, and fp line was stacked up too. we went for rope drop, got fp hit some rides with the little one then swapped off (we don't normally do big kid rides when we have scarlett with us but this time we did) said Hi to mickey had a quick bite at roaring forks and hit the road we were home by 12:15 lol

Congratulations to @franandaj!

Thank you!!!

I haven't put them in the new place yet.

Ha! I never knew you in the old place! "New" is relative, we've been here 2 years, but we were in the old place 16 years.

Congrats to Alison! (As I slip down to 4th place...) I definitely missed some of those photos!

Thanks!

I advise you to hit rope drop the stand by line was over an hour right after park opening, and fp line was stacked up too. we went for rope drop, got fp hit some rides with the little one then swapped off

Yeah that's not happening. I appreciate the advice, but we'll have to try another plan. As much as we want to be we're not rope drop people. Kudos to you for making it from way out there where you live.

had a quick bite at roaring forks and hit the road we were home by 12:15 lol

Where is roaring forks? When I Google it, I get WDW.

That's a wrap, folks.
The trip's fini.
Kaput.

Bummer.

Out of all the things that I had researched,
only one... one! thing didn't happen.

That's pretty good!

yes, I am going to write about Montreal.

Yay! :yay:

I was really feeling the pinch.
$1,100+ for the pump.
$350 for the sensor.

I don't mean to upstage you, but we just got the estimate to fix our pool and jacuzzi's leaks, and add a heater to the pool. We can kiss that Chrysler minivan (that we were thinking of buying later this year) goodbye.

"Didn't you hear?" He says.
"She went back to her old job."

:faint:

But on the other hand, I'm not going to be
nearly as busy as I was the last few weeks.

Well that sounds like a relief.

I should be able to catch up on sleep
Tuesday night (I hope.)
Kay doesn't need to be at school
until 8:30am or so.

I don't know how you do this. I would be dead by now if I lived your life!

A whirlwind trip
where we accomplished
far more than I would've believed.

You guys did great! You practically covered the entire island!

And speaking of blame,
in case you missed it,
yes, I am going to write about Montreal.
I can't imagine that it'll be more than
a couple or three updates, though.
And no contest.
(Just lost 80% of my readers... 90%... 95%....
just you left. Hey! Where are you going???)

I'd love to read about Montreal! But I'll have to catch up later.

And no contest is a relief in my eyes! Now I don't have to have my suckitude broadcast for the entire world to see it. I can do that just fine by myself on my own TR's, thank you.

I'd written about needing a new pool pump.
The final cost on that was just over $1,100.

:faint:

I turned on the salt cell and.... got an error message.
I knew it wasn't the cell.
(Had that replaced last year... $750.)
I did some research and figured it was
the flow/temp/salt sensor.
Called the pool guy.
$350.

:faint::faint:

Plus... I'm shooting a young lady's grad on Friday.
(Anyone remember Dee from the Niagara Falls trip?)
If it rains (and maybe even if it doesn't)

Then you're bailing on it and driving south to Fargo!:woohoo:

I'll be shooting indoors.

Dang it!

The camera's newer and the flash won't fire.
Not compatible.

Crap.
Do I have to buy a new flash now too?
(Another $500 at least.)

Lunch would be a heck of a lot cheaper. Lunch + gas = still way cheaper. Just sayin'.:rolleyes1

Put the sensor back, turn the unit on and...
No error message!

I just saved $350!

Oh. Well, that's a good thing.

I find the other flash and...
Well, it doesn't quite work like it should,
but it does fire.
And that's all I need.
I can work with that.

More bucks saved!
Woot!

Crap!

I mean, uh, good for you!

"Didn't you hear?" He says.
"She went back to her old job."

 That was...sudden.

What does this mean to me?
Well, a little less money in my pocket.

That stinks. However...

But on the other hand, I'm not going to be
nearly as busy as I was the last few weeks.
And considering the amount of overtime
I've been logging....
that's not altogether a bad thing.

That seems to be more needed right now. Especially since you have that Express "Make Huge Repair Bills Disappear" Pass.

My boss tells me, "____ phoned in sick for the midnight shift."
"Okay... " I reply.
"There's no one else available to work it."
"Okay... " I again reply.
"So..." He says.
"You're telling me that I have to stay." I say.
He just nods.
At least he said sorry.

:faint: Did you at least put a cover sheet on your TPS reports?

So I've been up most of last night
and have to stay up tonight too.
Plus I have the photoshoot at 1pm.

:faint::faint: I'm sensing a theme here. This is just brutal. I don't know how you do it!

And that's it!
That concludes this portion of the TR!

Coming up... Montreal!

:woohoo:

Thanks for adding the bonus chapters on Hawaii! It was really great to see all of these places again. I didn't realize how much I missed it.

I really enjoy your writing. Lots of joy, and lots of fun. Thanks for sharing the adventures with us.

Thanks for reading!

That's the easy part!

Many of you missed the bonus points
opportunities at the end of the update.
And only one... one! of you got all nine photos.

Well, I don't have time to go over these like the Zapruder film.

franandaj - 400 points
jandlinz - 360 points
Captain_Oblivious - 345 points

Wow, third place? That's not too shabby at all.

Yay I love Montreal so want to hear more about that!!! But I also wish there was a place around home to get some of that shave ice...your TR really made me want some lol

Hope you recovered from all that extra work!!

CONGRATS Allison!

Ponz, I was so sure I had all of the pics! That Luna is tricky!
Sorry you came back to craziness at work. We had another no show no call last week. 2nd offense for our front reception. It is getting to the point where I don't even care who I hire because they don't stay anyway. :rotfl2:

Congrats to Alison! (As I slip down to 4th place...) I definitely missed some of those photos!

::yes:: Most were obvious, but a couple of them...

Apparently I'm taking a page from your book. We weren't going to take a family vacation this summer. So, where are we right now? Washington DC!

Glad to hear I'm rubbing off on people...
in a good way for a change!

Not sure if I'll do a trip report or not, but dh did take photos of our dinner last night...

That's how it starts...

Ha! I never knew you in the old place!

Oh, now you're just nit-picking!

"New" is relative, we've been here 2 years, but we were in the old place 16 years.

We've been in our "new" place for six years now.
So two years qualifies.

Yep. Always is.

That's pretty good!

I was shocked that we did all that we did...
Without feeling rushed, too!

Ya like that, do ya?

I don't mean to upstage you, but we just got the estimate to fix our pool and jacuzzi's leaks, and add a heater to the pool. We can kiss that Chrysler minivan (that we were thinking of buying later this year) goodbye.

How old's your pool? Ours is only five years...
So as far as I'm concerned,
any repairs are extra expenses that shouldn't
be cropping up yet.

Well that sounds like a relief.

Truthfully? Yeah, a little.
Still. I wanted to get her trained
and qualified.
Ah well.

I don't know how you do this. I would be dead by now if I lived your life!

It got worse!!

You need more sleep! Not only for your health, but you're making the rest of us ordinary folk look positively unproductive!

 Sorry!
Seriously... I do need more sleep.
And as I just mentioned to Alison....

It got worse!!

How old's your pool? Ours is only five years...
So as far as I'm concerned,
any repairs are extra expenses that shouldn't
be cropping up yet.

Now that I can't answer. The house was built in 1960. Some of our pool guys have mentioned our equipment is 20 years old, maybe older. By the landscaping, and the fact the the previous owner (who lived here 20 years) said she didn't put in any of it, makes me think that it's pretty old. And yeah we have to do something to the landscaping too as that's what's causing the side of the pool to crack. :faint:

I'll finish up the shout-outs a bit later,
but for right now...

So Father's Day came and went
with nary a thing from either DD.

Yeah, I got a hug from Elle,
so that was nice at least.

But then I got a nice FB post from her
that made me smile.
The next day,
(I was gone pretty much from noon on,
on Sunday.)
Elle made me these:

IMG_1510_zps5cn7cfzu.jpg

Mickey head mini apple pies!
Pre-made dough, canned filling,
burned ears (her first time baking.)

And totally appreciated and pretty tasty too!

You guys did great! You practically covered the entire island!

Pretty much! Just missed that one little corner... but that's about it.

I'd love to read about Montreal! But I'll have to catch up later.

I think you should be paying attention here.
Trip or no trip.

If you ever go, that is.

And no contest is a relief in my eyes! Now I don't have to have my suckitude broadcast for the entire world to see it. I can do that just fine by myself on my own TR's, thank you.

This is true.

Then you're bailing on it and driving south to Fargo!:woohoo:

Uh...

Yep.
It just sucks that this had to happen on the one day that I wanted free!

Lunch would be a heck of a lot cheaper. Lunch + gas = still way cheaper. Just sayin'.:rolleyes1

Yeah, but...

Oh. Well, that's a good thing.

Crap!

I mean, uh, good for you!

... there it is.

 That was...sudden.

Took me by surprise.
The guy I talked to first is known for joking around.
I wasn't positive she'd quit until I made a second call.

That seems to be more needed right now. Especially since you have that Express "Make Huge Repair Bills Disappear" Pass.

Yeah... soooooo tired right now.
May have to take a sick day.
Honestly not feeling too great right now.

:faint: Did you at least put a cover sheet on your TPS reports?

I had no idea what you were talking about...
And then Google to the rescue and...

:rotfl:

:faint::faint: I'm sensing a theme here. This is just brutal. I don't know how you do it!

I don't either.
I feel like crap right now.

Thanks for adding the bonus chapters on Hawaii! It was really great to see all of these places again. I didn't realize how much I missed it.

Such an amazing place. The whole State.

I really enjoy your writing. Lots of joy, and lots of fun. Thanks for sharing the adventures with us.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Well, I don't have time to go over these like the Zapruder film.

Are you sure?
What could possibly be more important???

Wow, third place? That's not too shabby at all.

What was that about Zapruder?
