Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Wow! First off :welcome: to the TR!
I'd say welcome to the DIS, too. But I see you've been on since 2014.
And only posting now... for little ol' me!

Totally flattered.

Yes yes, long time peruser (silent lurker), first time poster! LOL. Yes, your trip report was definitely worth my first post!!!

I take no responsibility for the inevitable queasy or nauseous feeling you got as a result!

No nausea from your trip report...what is this, mission space?? haha.

So ya like the twisted/sarcastic type, do ya?

Don't all Canadians?

I know her! I know her! (Said in my best Elf impersonation.)
She's the cute one who runs around Disney in sparkly ballet flats.

That's her!!! I run around Disney along side her, usually in less comfortable shoes!!

::yes:: Absolutely!

SWEEEEET! Thanks!! That got me out of buying her a birthday present :yay:

Don't hate her too much for steering you astray.

What are you talking about? A trip report riddled with sarcasm and a contest! You can't beat it.

That sounds so.... final.
Do I get a last meal request with that?

Yes, yes you do. What will it be??

Unfortunately, like I said, it was a long line.
Pretty much exhausted every possibility.

You can try one if you like.
But I guarantee we already said it.

Open a can of coke on the ride... sum of all spills ???

For all you Via Napoli fanatics...
prepare to be disappointed.
I did enjoy the pizza and, if memory serves,
(it seldom does) Kay did too.
But.
Was it amazing? No.

We had that same experience in September. My sister and I were looking forward to the meal, and it was just meh. I had the carciofi pizza, it was so big I took leftovers back to the room for breakfast the following morning. Having breakfast on the go helps cram in more fun Disney time, it's a known fact!

We finished our pizzas and chased them with gelato and sorbet.
I think Kay had the vanilla gelato while I had the lemon sorbet.
Now normally I'll take gelato over sorbet any day.
But lemon trumps non-lemon gelato.

But what about hazelnut gelato?? That's the best kind!

Squishley - I'm her first. 6 points. Loves me. 4 points.
Saturn23 - Brings in the family. 5 points.

I have points?? Yay ME!!! Thanks so much.
And points for my sister... thanks again for that, every little bit helps! :)

Okay, since i'm on the board with points, I'm going to attempt these guesses...

Next Park is Animal Kingdom
Not the last park.
3 parks that day.
Churro. (because i just got back from Mexico and I had a nutella one there... mmmm)
11:05pm
Yes you stay lucky with the weather
Yes to a dinner ADR

P.S. Forgot to mention you are awesome... as is your trip report.
Oh and I really wanted to use this: lol pixiedust:

I'm going to do my best to respond to your comments however, between the rxn cough surup I'm on + overall wosieness from the bronchitis I'm not sure of my coherentcy.:faint::confused:

Oh, this should be good.

sounds nifty!

Nifty?
Sure. We can go with that.
A few more hits of that Rx and it'll be "awesomflee."

both perhaps?

Possibly.

SO THAT's where that orginated! good to n:thumbsup2

::yes:: Credit where credit is due.

apparently my memory is shot and I'm double quoting... or seeing double. :rotfl:

Both perhaps?

your gracious!

Goodness!

you mentioned dying twice

Nah. You're just seeing double.

Okay, okay. Just kidding.

Well it was the last day, and there are two of us, so...

according to dh you can ask the dude tht puts you in the thing to make it more intense for you if you want.

Oh, really! I had no idea!

I don't know. rather not be trying to hack up my lungs at the mo.

Well, there is that.

But as far as what you were referenceing (I can't remember) I sure I am.

Great! So I'll put you down for two, then?

Double double boil and trouble.

:lmao: You're realllly enjoying that medicine, aren't you?

Wait what didn't I just coment on this? I told u I wouldn't make sense!:rotfl:

No. That was yesterday.

:cheer2: Someone in MY camp! DH and I don't like it either. Its loud and the pizza isn't any better than the place at the edge of our new neighborhood. (Yes that's dangerous)

I didn't find it overly loud, but then it wasn't overly busy either.
But yeah. Not "Wow is that good!" pizza, unfortunately.

Weeeee:rotfl2: This is all probably more funny than it should be.

I think it's hysterical!
You should get sick more often!

probably wise....

I find my mouth more often than not gets me into trouble when I open it.

Its obvious? Did my addled brain miss something {probably..} MK?

3

cream cheese pretzel

11

no rain

no

Noted.

Fair enough! I was talking about New York City.

No she wasn't! She meant NYC too!

CAT FIGHT!!!!!

Hey, do you have a private island??

Well, I've got a pool, close enough?

Can we all go there sometime and you know. Relax?

I have, in the past entertained DISers and served Grey Goose Slushes, poolside...

No, I'm not kidding.

A land where there is no math. And I can take care of well people keeping them well?

My pool is (mostly) a math free zone.
Except when I'm doing weekly maintenance
and I have to remember to put two bags of this
and a scoop and a half of that in.

And there are endless loops of empty Doom Buggies just for us??

Dang. No Doom Buggies.
I need to fix that.

I meant to reply, but this has been one busy month. Holidays, vehicle repairs, Lady H travelling, job interviews.

Vehicle repairs too? Oy!
You can't catch a break!

Before I knew it, we're already in 2016.

Happy New Year!

Er... well, eventually?

Still no job. Some of the interviews I felt went great, so hopefully one of them pans out soon.

That sucks about not having a job yet, Mike.
Hopefully one of them will pan out.

If not, may have to go back to my retail roots soon.

Something tells me you'd rather not do that.

I'm still getting unemployment benefits, but time to turn job search up a notch now.

Good luck, dude!

I knew this reference as well. I remember that TR well.

I knew you guys would!

Guilty. Send me to WDW, lock me up and throw away the key. I don't deserve to be a part of this TR anymore.

What? No WDW?! Can't blame a guy for trying.

No WDW. You're punishment is doing the dishes by yourself for a month.
Cooking, too.

I remember him.

Who?

That and you give prizes.

Ya gotta play it to win it!

Do you remember the time he lit the napkin on fire?

No! I wonder if that was before I showed up on scene?

Me to. I need to give the old lug a call one of these days. It's been forever since I talked to him.

He's still in a good mood when I called.
But you can tell the surgeries and ongoing issues aren't much fun.

Well I did follow you from there. Or you followed me.

Hmmm... I don't remember. I guess it's whoever had a TR going first.

Seeing this is your TR, I guess it would be me that followed you.
Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm stalking Ponzi.

One word, buster.
Hasenpfeffer.

You have a heart?

:rotfl:

J/K. We're glad that you take the time to do this for us.

You're more than welcome! :goodvibes

Think at one point Nebo also referred to this as the eviction notice.

::yes:: I do remember that one.

Chicago pizza is awesome.

::yes::

I hope I don't offend any New Yorkers, but we enjoyed the pizza in Chicago much better than New York. Well at least the places we went. I'm sure its a matter of finding the right places.

True. I can take you to some places around town
that'll make you wish you'd never come.
I might do that.... hmmm....
Oh! And I can also take you to places
that will having you wish you lived here.

What are the odds of that happening? I'll let you do the math, I have a headache at the moment.

No idea. Big number.
Ask Liesa. She's good at math.

Obvious he says and yet I bet I don't get the right answer. Since you're taking a bus, my guess is DHS.
Lady H guesses AK.

T_Man: Not.
Lady H: Not.

T_Man: 3
Lady H: 4

T_Man: Mickey Pretzel
Lady H: Mickey Bar

T_Man: 11pm
Lady H: 11pm

T_Man: Yes, you stay lucky.
Lady H: Yes, you get lucky.

T_Man: No.
Lady H: Yes.

Noted; and
Noted.

Be careful or I might start dreaming of quitting my job, running away and joining a certain Winnipegian's (Winnipegite ?) harem...

Winnipeger is the term you were looking for.

And... come on down!
(Or... up, I suppose.)

It was nice but now I'm extra sad that I won't be at Disney again for 10 and a half months!

At least you have a date!
Although with Maui around the corner, I'm not feeling too sad right now.

I could give birth to a human being in that amount of time :sad2:

Smileycoffeespit_zps78mxykvg.gif

Well I haven't used all my duty free allowance yet so I could buy you some Grey Goose so you could make yourself one at home...

Actually already do that! :)

Did that, I should say.
I made some for another DISer when she came over.
But I couldn't have any since I was working later.
So I haven't had one for myself, yet!

Bi golly! I've bifuddled her!

I'm fine - sometimes Disney pricing just knocks the wind right out of me ;)

Only "sometimes"?

Seeing as you are the most wise Pkondz how could anyone disagree with you?

Good point.

Well I was happy but unfortunately unfortunately I'm very fragile and very funny sarcasm makes my happiness disappear...

Uh, oh. You've definitely come to the wrong TR, my dear.

I think you should send the second letter to his replacement just to keep both of them on their toes.

Ooh. Good idea.
I'll get right on that.

See I know I've got one terribly wrong already but I'm going to leave my incorrect answer so my future self learns a lesson in not being so stupid ::yes::

That's very wise.
But are you sure that you got one terribly wrong?

Sure????

Well if I'm going to host them I'm definitely going to need a bigger place...

Well, get on that!
Sheesh! We need to get this thing started!

Jersey's empty!
I guess I was under the mistaken belief
that most of you had followed me from there.
I'm a little shocked... and humbled too,
that so many of you have joined me in
this little adventure.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You're Welcome!! I thoroughly enjoy reading your TRs!

For some reason, it had taken me a while
to get to sleep the previous night.
Maybe because I was out gallivanting around taking pictures.
Maybe it was the three or eight mugs of Coke I drank
before going to bed.
Hard to pinpoint a cause, here.

Gallivanting around seems the one to keep me up rather than the coke.. but that's just me.

So while I didn't get to sleep that early,
I still woke up at 8:30am.
Not Disney early, but early enough.;/QUOTE]

that's not too bad! That's sleeping in to me, even at home! haha

It didn't help that I was still groggy from my poor night's sleep.
Oh well I'll catch up on sleep tonight.
Let's see...
What time do we need to be at the front desk tomorrow?

2:45am.

oh.

Sleep is overrated anyway.

Sleep is for the wimps and wizards ;) or that adage " you can sleep when you're dead!"

At 9:30am, Kay woke up.
I was surprised.
9:30am is pretty early for her.
Then again, it may be because I screamed
"WAKE UP!!!!!" at her.

:rotfl::lmao: Good one!!

An hour later,
(interspersed with me running to the food court for drinks)
she was ready to go.
We set out and got to the bus stop at 10:40am
The bus arrived at 10:41am.
One minute.
It was longer than we were used to.
But I am nothing if not understanding.
I let it slide and chose not to berate the driver
for his tardiness.
Am I not gracious?
Of course I am.
Tell me how gracious I am and get free bonus points.

Well, yes, that was very nice and gracious of you!!!

Minutes later, we were being disgorged onto the pavement at Epcot.
There was a fairly long line at bag check.
How to pass the time?
"Dad? Are we going to do Sum of all Thrills today?"
"Well, we can try. But we do have our FP to catch."

Pause.

"If the ride was cold, it would be Sum of all Chills."
"If you ate pickles while riding it would be Sum of all Dills."
"If you had a prescription it would be Sum of all Pills."
"If you died on it, it would be Sum of all Wills."
"Put a feather in it. Sum of all Quills."
"It goes really high, but not too high. Sum of all hills."
"Costs money. Sum of all Bills."
"Lots of garbage in it. Sum of all Fills."
"Underwater. Sum of all Gills."
"Makes you sick. Sum of all Ills."
"Worse, you die. Sum of all Kills."
ad infinitum

Unfortunately, like I said, it was a long line.
Pretty much exhausted every possibility.

You can try one if you like.
But I guarantee we already said it.

I tried, but I don't think " Makes you cash out. Sum of all Tills"
or "Takes many photos. Sum of all Stills"
not sure if they work at all...

By now, you may have guessed what our first ride was.
And yet, not many of you guessed it when it counted!

DSC09734_zpsj50m4qsf.jpg
That would have been my other guess... there goes my gut.... FEELiNG ;)

Time for the FP.
We swiped our bands and entered.
Shortly thereafter, Kay had designed this:

IMG_0891_zpsvvzcdsf7.jpg

Feminine... yet bad-a... uh.... mean looking.
Dad approves.

Very nice!!

Oh, yeah.
And afterwards, this happened...

DSC09740_zpso8kwg1by.jpg

Hmmm... Maybe she's trying to tell me something.
Sheesh. Some things never change...

DSC09740b_zpsm2mqf8ci.jpg
AWWWW! I love all these photo ops you are doing then/now!

We then retraced our footsteps and headed
over to Germany.
There I bought a shirt for my Dad,
which he just got the other day, for Christmas.

We also had worked up a bit of an appetite from the walking,
so a visit to Karamell Kuche was in order.
Well, we didn't really have an appetite worked up,
but who cares??? It's Karamell Kuche!
We snagged some popcorn and caramel filled chocolate.
We kept the caramel corn for later,
but I don't think the chocolate lasted very long.

YUM! The caramel corn is a favorite of mine!

Well, I think we've done everything that we wanted
to do in Epcot.
Time to zip over to another park.
There's a boat dock right at Germany,
and naturally, as we strolled over to it,
there was a boat that was just starting to load.
So we got to the dock at 2:32pm and had zero wait.

Of course.

I need to come vacation with you and all this no waiting!!

We saw there was room for us to sit
beside a woman who had boarded ahead of us.
Well, since we're now officially shipmates,
might as well be polite.
"Hi." I brilliantly began. "Mind if we sit?"
"Sure." She replied.
After we sat down, we spoke for a bit.
I don't know who asked first, but inevitably the
"where you from" question comes up.
"We're from Canada." I said.
I know to just leave it at that.
I've found that if I say "Winnipeg",
I get blank stares.
If I say "Manitoba" the province that has
Winnipeg as its capitol... I get blank stares.
So I usually go with the safe "Canada"
and expound if asked for more details.
"Where are you from?" I politely enquire.
And she, of course, replies:
"A small town in Jersey, just outside Philadelphia."

Again?!?!?!?!?
I talk to three random strangers,
on three separate days.
And they're all from "A small town in Jersey, just outside Philadelphia"???

Of course.
I have it now.
Everyone, with the exception of Kay and me,
is from Jersey.
I get it now.
But it begs the question.
If everyone from Jersey is here now.
Who's minding the store back in Jersey????

What are the odds??? That is pretty funny!!!

As we made our way, I glanced up at the sky.
Clouds were forming.
It was starting to look like... rain.

Tut Tut. It looks like rain....

Bonus questions, round 10!

1. Obvious one. Which park are we heading out to next?
AK

2. Remember we have to be at the lobby for check out at 2:45am.
So... Is the next park our last of the day? Or not?
Number of parks done this last day, 2, 3 or 4?

3

3. I experience yet another first time snack.
And it's another fairly common one.
(I had to. I promised I would.) What is it?
RUM DOLE WHIP

4. Oh, take a wild guess on what time we leave the parks for the night.
And just to make things extra easy for you...
(in order of lateness open)

MK open til 11, DHS open til 9:30, Epcot open til 9, AK open til 5
You leave AK around 4:45 to head to MK where you stay until 10pm

5. We've been lucky with the weather... so far.
So, do you feel we stay lucky?
It sprinkles a bit at AK, then clear skies

6. What do you think? We've done one ADR today already.
Do we have a dinner ADR?
no, just a QS at MK

Good luck!
Gee, Thanks!! I may need the extra luck! ;)

ok. I don't know why it quoted the way it did.... let me know if you need another post of just answers if you can't read them..

Being fans of Bill Watterson’s great works, I thought you might also see these as somewhat bemusing homages…

Those were GREAT!!!!

I especially liked this one:

But they were all excellent.

And no…
They have nothing to do with your TR, but they made me smile, so…

And thanks so much for posting those!
How'd you come across them?

OK, now for the actual TR replies.

Aw. Well... okay.

Knew it.

Have not run across that particular thread.
I first encountered Nebo by name reading through one of you other TRs; some excellent repartee there (but like I said, I haven’t gone back and read a whole lot of his previous work as of yet).

His stuff's a bit hard to find now.

Too bad for us (though I suspect that he’s pretty proud of the fact).

 Yeah! Probably!

You, I ran across via the Caption Contest thread

::yes::

RIP!
I think I ran that for... 3 years or so?

It was the links in your Sig that got me reading your TRs

That's why they're there! :)

It happens…
Not a problem though, as we - your readers - have all been known to supply a few for you in their responses. So we’ll see if we can’t help you out here, you know…
Just to “Plus” the experience (as Walt would say).

Oh, dear Lord... Here it comes...

Smileycoffeespit_zps78mxykvg.gif

7:01am according to the almanac (just so you know).

Thanks. I was losing sleep over that one.
You know. Since I don't have any method of finding out when that time is.

Actually, come to think of it,
I need to check the sunrise/sunset times for Maui.
It gets dark realllll fast when the sun goes down.

Embellishment…
It not about facts, it’s about presentation.

All story tellers live by that particular code.

Yeah. That's it.
It's a code.
It's not just BS.

The mantra of all Rope Drop to close DISers everywhere.

That would likely have forced most folk to be getting’ up once or twice during the night.

:rolleyes1

Strong with this one, the force is, hummmm…

No. Not really.
That think just emanates the dark side.

:lmao: Those were all spot on.

That one didn't work, though.

Well, you didn’t whack her on the head with a pillow, so she should consider it a general win.

This is true. She should be thanking me.

And the tally now stands at 15 to 7

Oy. Spoiled little brat!

But it’s better to be busy with something rather than just waiting around for others.

You'd think so.... until you went out in that heat.

You are far and away the single most gracious blackmailer I’ve ever had the pleasure to have known.

Glad I could be of service!

This is bogus! I rode a school bus every day from Gr 4 - 9.
I never got to use a slide!

If it could sang a lonesome and haunting bird song that could capture a departing sole…
The Sum of All Whippoorwills

I threw that "guarantee" out there
to see if anyone could come up with something new.
I figured if anyone could/would it'd be you.

You did not disappoint.

Forgot about that one; excellent choice and one of my favs.
We like the jet fighter simulations in particular.

We just figured that'd be the most fun one.

Portal to adventure!!!

That'll work.

Being so low to the ground and in an open vehicle adds a might to it as well.

I was thinking along the same lines.
Not many people drive in the wind.

Yeah, y’all are just a might spoiled by that experience.
Not a problem that I have…
Not yet at least.

::yes:: And..... loving it.

Oh this time there’s a change alright.
The original is a youn’ge having fun “playing grown-up”

"The young lady in the updated version, most certainly has one of “those” looks in her eyes…
You know the particular one here: the “you need to get me one of these; now!” look.

Believe me.... I noticed.

Frightening, isn't it?

See…
Conosco I miei polli

But I had Italian sausage! Not chicken!

We encountered something similar. It actually surprised me that there was a person specifically designated to just maintaining the water levels. The similar amount of hustle makes me wonder if per chance it’s seen as a test and the only way to work up tom the next level on the staff (and therefor get to stay in the US).

I thought it was:
"If you work hard, you might become a server.
Otherwise... you'll do dishes until you go back to Italia."

Take your best shot.
We think it’s good, but not necessarily awe inspiring.
(mostly Via N. is a decent bargain as table service goes in Da’ World)

I never thought of it as a bargain since we had free dining.
But that's a good point.

That’s more Pie than Pizza; which isn’t a bad thing, just not the same thing.
But then again, I like pie, so…

Mmmmmm..... pie...

Really?
OK, give us the tour; what make the pizza up that’a way great.

Um... I'll postpone that until the next udate, okay?

But in truth, the kid wasn’t all that wrong. It’s certainly more of a North American phenomenon then a Southern European one. It may (or may not) have been “first devised” there; it was developed here.

That's actually what I thought.
Invented in Italy? Sure.
But revered and modified and eaten?
This side of the pond.

Still. You don't forget where you came from!

Try saying: Fort Mill…
The blank stares are of black hole proportions for the one.

Sure. But then if you say "Near Charlotte." people would probably get it.
Failing that, if you said SC, they'd know, right?

But if someone says "What's Winnipeg close to?"
The correct answer is.... "Nothing."

Well according to most news reports, there’s very little minding of any type going on up that way.

Aha! Another one dares to take on the entire State!
(Might want to not go to WDW during Jersey week.)

Time to take a different SWAG at this one…
Let’s go with 42 minutes (because the answer is always 42, right?)

1. AK
2. 3
3. Hummmm… not sure about this one. Let’s go with: Mickey Pretzel
4. 10
5. You stay lucky: no rain
6. Yes

Noted.

Who's got time for that crap?

I think you came to my TR first. I don't know why...

Could be right. No idea.
I suppose you could find out...
but I for one don't feel like doing the research.

No, I don't think it seems all that fast. I mean, it is definitely faster than the Tomorrowland Speedway, but I think triple digits would really set it over the top. :rolleyes1

Now that would be a fun ride!

Meh... it's just Jersey.

:lmao:

Probably not.

Okay then. Guess I'll just leave it as is.

Vehicle repairs too? Oy!
You can't catch a break!
When it rains it pours. Good thing we still have money in our savings and Lady H is still working. We had to replace the throttle body and battery on Lady H's car. My friend and I replaced the brakes on my truck. They were long overdue. Help cut down on the labor costs. All together, close to $1k in repairs.

Happy New Year!
Oh yeah. So it is. Happy New Year to you and your family as well.

That sucks about not having a job yet, Mike.
Hopefully one of them will pan out.
I'm hoping.

Something tells me you'd rather not do that.
I got a little spoiled working Monday - Friday, 8a-5p. So if I can manage to keep that schedule, that would be great. I'll do what I have to do though.

Good luck, dude!
Thanks. I need it.

I knew you guys would!
Of course we would. That was classic Nebo.

No WDW. You're punishment is doing the dishes by yourself for a month.
Cooking, too.
So my normal duties then. I think I can manage that. Loading the dishwasher is easy and I got all the Pizza places numbers programmed into my phone.

Who, Who?

Ya gotta play it to win it!
You mean I can't win it by default long time Dis Friend, Dis Buddy, Dis Pal?

No! I wonder if that was before I showed up on scene?
I think you were already around by then. It was one of their many trips to WDW. I can't quite recall if it was even the same time he burned his finger. All I really remember was it was also at Teppan Edo. He put the napkin down on the grill and after a while it caught fire. I'll see if I can find it.

He's still in a good mood when I called.
But you can tell the surgeries and ongoing issues aren't much fun.
Poor dude. Hope all goes well for him.

Hmmm... I don't remember. I guess it's whoever had a TR going first.
Think you had Hawaii TR going first. Obviously I'm not very good at finishing a TR.

One word, buster.
Hasenpfeffer.
No rabbit in mine please.

You're more than welcome! :goodvibes
Now get back to work. We're all waiting for the next chapter.

Hey, that's roughly my success rate on random guesses for this TR.

Oh, I don't think your success rate is that good.

:rolleyes2

I think I have @afwdwfan to thank for bringing me into the club. Or blame. However you want to see it.

I think you're right about that.

No idea what you're talking about.:rolleyes1

I didn't say a thing.

I'm totally stealing that. The DUD acronym, too.

Sure. It's not copyrighted. Feel free.
It's open source.

Oh my goodness, yes! Perfect description.

 Thanks!

Does that really work?

Only at Disney.

I read this and started thinking of Gladiator. "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??"

:lmao:

Oh, right. You're very gracious.

Oh? Why, that's nice of you to say, just out of the blue like that.

Well, you should have had your mugs with you so you could have gotten The Sum of All Refills. Or spiked them with whiskey to get The Sum of All Distills.

Yep. Said 'em both.
Although we agreed that Sum of all Distills was too close to
Sum of all Stills to count it again.

Better than I would have done. I doubt I would have graduated beyond a straight line.

Well, I can't draw a straight line, so you have that on me.

Futuristic Jet Pack-inator!

I like that!

I'd say it's DIS Dad-approved as well.

:thumbsup2

::yes:: The joys of centrifugal forces.

Yep. And as has been previously discussed.
Open air and low to the ground help, too.

Wow. These flashbacks just catch me by surprise every time. Time waits for no one.

No kidding.
I keep wondering where my little girls went!

Well, I think that would be enough to make anyone feel the ground shift beneath them. Good on you for being resilient.

I will bend... but I will not break!!!!

Unless the wait time goes to six minutes.
Then all bets are off.

Took a while. But we got there.

Yes! I got one stinking guess right!

I'm applauding for you.
Doing it with one hand while typing with the other, mind you...

I hope you got a FP for the bathroom.

No. We stopped drinking to save her from being run ragged, remember?

Darn. I really like it there. Of course, I think part of that has to do with the fact that all of the pizza on property is thoroughly un-memorable in comparison.

I was told that earlier too.
That comparatively, it's better pizza than elsewhere on property.

Chicago deep dish is pretty amazing, but you have to be in the right mood, since eating it is like swallowing an anchor.

 Okay, I'll give you that!

I may actually get closer to Winnipeg this summer than I first realized.:rolleyes1

Oh? Possibility of a mini DDCC?

Sometimes things get over-hyped as well.

Yeah. Sometimes it's "all hail all things Disney!"
But like I mentioned with the wine earlier.
Your taste is not my taste.
And it may (for you) be the best pizza you've ever had.

Sounds like a future Mom.

Whoa. Let's get her through high school first, okay?

Do you need to schedule surgery to remove the horseshoe, or is it there permanently?

Are you kidding?
Why would I have it removed????

Sure I walk funny, but the positives outweigh the negatives.

I weep for my country.

Don't. Why would you know about an obscure city in another Country?
You know where Cholet, France is? Me neither!
But I bet almost everyone in France knows.

(I Googled Paris, France and picked something after zooming out.)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Of course.

What the heck was going on?!?!?

Does anyone really need to mind the store? I mean, it's not like anyone is rushing to fill the void.

:rolleyes1

Oh, all right. Looks like my number is still way too high. So, I'll change to 42.319745 minutes.

Noted.

Magic Kingdom. So you can end your trip there.

Yep, this is it. That'll be 2 parks.

A churro for the first-time snack. And maybe another Dole Whip Float, because it's there.

I'll go with 11. Max out the day at MK.

Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? Sure, that horseshoe is working overtime for you.

Yes. Am I supposed to say where? Uh...Kona Cafe?

Noted.

These are awesome!

I know, right?

Thanks! I'll try to remember, but no idea if/when I'll start another one. Dh keeps talking about a trip this summer (NoCal/Yosemite), but I don't know if we are going to be able to swing it or not. So I guess if I do one, it would be on that other forum about CA - I'll probably have to drag people over there by force, because it is a pretty quiet board!

I've been known to pop over there when friends post.

Fwiw, I think I found you by seeing you comment on other people's TRs. Your solo TR was going on at the time, so I jumped in a little near the end.

Ah. Couldn't remember for sure.

(I found the DIS for our first trip in my siggie, and then left for a very long time after my TR friends stopped posting and we didn't have any plans to come back. Plus, the recession hit us pretty hard, so it was too depressing to read about vacations at that point.)

Yeah, that would do it all right.
I've been quite lucky in that I've had a few trips in the last few years.
I'm hoping to keep that trend going!

I have toyed with the idea of a solo trip, after reading about all these other solo trips. I even put together a wish list, of all the stuff no one else wants to do or that we've just missed on our other trips. But I doubt it will ever happen, since we have so many other places we want to go.

That sounds like a good problem to have, though!
I don't mind going to Disney,
but I love going to other places (that I haven't been) more.

Hm. They don't seem to have any in Canada. They did apparently start in CA - Beverly Hills, in fact, according to the corporate website. Their claim to fame is that they put unusual toppings on their pizzas. But, I first encountered strange toppings on pizza on a high school trip to France, where they put things like eggs on top! So, the "exotic" pizza toppings at CPK seemed relatively tame after that!

I've heard of eggs on top of Pizza. Don't think I've ever had one.
But I wouldn't say no to it!

Yes yes, long time peruser (silent lurker), first time poster! LOL.

Well, I'm glad we persuaded you to come out of hiding.

Actually, very little puts a smile on my face more quickly
than someone who comes out of lurkdom and says hi.

Yes, your trip report was definitely worth my first post!!!

I'm really flattered you know.
If I was any flatter, you could slide me under the door.

No nausea from your trip report...what is this, mission space?? haha.

Mission Sarcasm.

Don't all Canadians?

This is true.

That's her!!! I run around Disney along side her, usually in less comfortable shoes!!

 "Less" comfortable shoes?!?!?

Good Lord! What are you wearing??? :faint:

SWEEEEET! Thanks!! That got me out of buying her a birthday present :yay:

You're welcome.
If you're really happy about that, you can send me her present instead.

What are you talking about? A trip report riddled with sarcasm and a contest! You can't beat it.

 Well, unless you have realllllly good guesses,
it's going to be tough for you to beat this particular contest
at this point of the game.

But happy to have you playing along! :goodvibes

Yes, yes you do. What will it be??

I'd have to think about that.
But I'm going to go out on a limb and say it won't be Brussels sprouts.

Open a can of coke on the ride... sum of all spills ???

Yep. Used that one.

We had that same experience in September. My sister and I were looking forward to the meal, and it was just meh.

Yep. You're sister mentioned you guys weren't overly thrilled.

I had the carciofi pizza, it was so big I took leftovers back to the room for breakfast the following morning.

Did you not order the smaller size?
Or did you just not eat too much of it?

I've never been a fan of cold pizza for breakfast,
even though others love it.

Having breakfast on the go helps cram in more fun Disney time, it's a known fact!

::yes:: Agree completely!
Who has time for that? There's parks to get to!

But what about hazelnut gelato?? That's the best kind!

OMG. You and @Saturn23 really are related.
She said the exact same thing!

And I'll tell you the same thing.

Nope. Lemon beats it.

I have points?? Yay ME!!! Thanks so much.

Of course you do! You earned them!

And you're welcome! :)

And points for my sister... thanks again for that, every little bit helps! :)

Oh, she's doing okay in the contest, I suppose...

:rolleyes2

Okay, since i'm on the board with points, I'm going to attempt these guesses...

Good!

Next Park is Animal Kingdom
Not the last park.
3 parks that day.
Churro. (because i just got back from Mexico and I had a nutella one there... mmmm)
11:05pm
Yes you stay lucky with the weather
Yes to a dinner ADR

Noted.

P.S. Forgot to mention you are awesome... as is your trip report.

Aw, thanks! :goodvibes

Oh and I really wanted to use this: lol pixiedust:

:rotfl: How long have you been waiting to use that???

You're Welcome!! I thoroughly enjoy reading your TRs!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Gallivanting around seems the one to keep me up rather than the coke.. but that's just me.

Coke never bothered me before, but it has been of late.
I think 25 years of shift work is catching up with me.

that's not too bad! That's sleeping in to me, even at home! haha

It is for me too!
Seldom is the day where I sleep in past 7:00am.

Sleep is for the wimps and wizards ;) or that adage " you can sleep when you're dead!"

::yes:: I say that too! :)

Well, yes, that was very nice and gracious of you!!!

Why thank you!

I tried, but I don't think " Makes you cash out. Sum of all Tills"
or "Takes many photos. Sum of all Stills"
not sure if they work at all...

Yep. Said 'em both.
Although we used alcohol for "stills" (and distill).

That would have been my other guess... there goes my gut.... FEELiNG ;)

Always go with your gut.

Your other gut.

AWWWW! I love all these photo ops you are doing then/now!

:goodvibes I think that one's my favourite.

YUM! The caramel corn is a favorite of mine!

It was so good!

I need to come vacation with you and all this no waiting!!

Funny you should say that.
I was thinking:
"If I advertise that with me as a guide
you'd never wait more than five minutes
and on average, less than two minutes for transportation,
I wonder how much money I could make?"

Probably as much as up until the time people who hire me
have to wait 20+ minutes for a bus.

What are the odds??? That is pretty funny!!!

I don't know! But I couldn't believe it!

Tut Tut. It looks like rain....

Pooh's at the other park.

AK

3

RUM DOLE WHIP

You leave AK around 4:45 to head to MK where you stay until 10pm

It sprinkles a bit at AK, then clear skies

no, just a QS at MK

Noted.

Gee, Thanks!! I may need the extra luck! ;)

Good luck again, then!

When it rains it pours. Good thing we still have money in our savings and Lady H is still working. We had to replace the throttle body and battery on Lady H's car. My friend and I replaced the brakes on my truck. They were long overdue. Help cut down on the labor costs. All together, close to $1k in repairs.

Ouch! :headache:
At least you were able to do the brakes yourself.

I got a little spoiled working Monday - Friday, 8a-5p. So if I can manage to keep that schedule, that would be great. I'll do what I have to do though.

Hmmm.... You know....
I've never worked Monday-Friday.
My first jobs were in the restaurant business,
so weekends and nights were most common.
Then I worked for a bit at the Foreign Exchange/Post Office/Info/Insurance
booth at the airport. Mostly evenings and weekends.
Then my current job which is shift work.

If it wasn't for a brief summertime job between Gr. 9 & 10 (construction)
I'd never have worked Mon-Fri.

Thanks. I need it.

So my normal duties then. I think I can manage that. Loading the dishwasher is easy and I got all the Pizza places numbers programmed into my phone.

What... No Chinese take out?

Who, Who?

OMG. He's lost it. Being out of work this long
and now he thinks he's an owl.

You mean I can't win it by default long time Dis Friend, Dis Buddy, Dis Pal?

Nuh, uh.
But I'll give you some points.

I think you were already around by then. It was one of their many trips to WDW. I can't quite recall if it was even the same time he burned his finger. All I really remember was it was also at Teppan Edo. He put the napkin down on the grill and after a while it caught fire. I'll see if I can find it.

Did it actually catch fire?
I seem to recall him putting it on there... but it not catching fire...

Think you had Hawaii TR going first. Obviously I'm not very good at finishing a TR.

:rolleyes2

No rabbit in mine please.

You is the rabbit.

Now get back to work. We're all waiting for the next chapter.

:faint:
