Okay. For a second, I did selfishly think:
"Solo trip to the World in February again!!"

:hyper:

"You know what I'd really like." She says.
"Is to go to Hawaii."

Well I guess that's pretty good too. I would like to hear those words as well.

"For this. I'll just tell them I'm going."
She matter-of-factly states.

Well that works out.

The children were coming and would each need a bed,
While visions of dollar signs danced in my head.

No kidding. Not to mention beds, but they probably might want to eat over those three days.

We fly out on Wednesday February 17.
We leave around 4:30pm so she can go right after work.
We arrive Vancouver and spend the night.

Sounds like a plan.

Next day Maui, arriving around 2pm.
We then have that evening, all of Friday,
Saturday and Sunday.

Sounds nice.

We leave Sunday night at 11:30pm.
A quick stop in Vancouver
and home mid-afternoon on Monday.

:faint:

I did find a nice looking rental condo
that was fairly reasonable.
But it turned out the guy didn't want to book 3 nights
when he had space for 5 nights.
(Didn't want two stray days to try and fill.)
So right now it's still in the unknown stage.

And at this point, I would be freaking out. Either that or pulling the cha-ching lever.

We arrived at the platform at 2:24pm.
Just in time to miss our ride.
The next monorail arrived promptly at 2:25pm.

I swear, even on the trip that I just got back from our luck was never even close to this good!

I can only assume that Disney noticed
the most convenient Monorail was fairly full,
so they got it out of the way for us.
So we could have seats, naturally.

Of course.

Five minutes later, at 2:39 another one pulled up.
Five minutes! Five!!
Disney will be receiving a very sternly worded letter.
Let me assure you! :snooty:

I fell asleep waiting for a bus at 4PM on our trip and you complain about 5 minutes. :faint:

Since I had allowed at least an hour for transportation...

:lmao:

Sorry. I know.
Ridiculous.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

We approached the Standby entrance to SE,
which was empty.

On our trip the wait time was 30 minutes.

Crush? Is that you?
I thought you'd be.... bigger.

How do we know that isn't an eight foot turtle? :rolleyes1

We exited our little oasis, climbed a flight of stairs
and checked in at Teppan Edo for our ADR.

Yes!

"A small town in Jersey, just outside Philadelphia."
What are the odds!?!?

But was it the same town? Plenty of people from New Jersey go to WDW.

I did not... repeat NOT, touch the cooking surface with my finger.
(I'm curious. Let me know if you get (or don't get) that reference.
Bonus points whether you do or don't get it. I just wanna know.)

No clue. :confused3

Another of Kay's favourite things.
Noodles.
I swear, the kid could live off that and nothing else.

Is she an athlete? When I was her age my favorite meal was egg noodles, Stove Top Stuffing and Heinz Turkey Gravy. But I was carb stacking for swimming.

You didn't really think a tiny dish of vanilla ice cream
would suffice, did you?
Did you???

I didn't even know that they served a dish of vanilla ice cream for dessert. I guess that is part of the dining plan.

I've mentioned this before,
but for my newer readers:
We fell in love with shave ice
when we were in Hawaii a few years ago.

Never had it.

Snapped just a couple of quick shots as we strolled.

Nice.

Eighteen... not so much.

:sad2:

we had to... had to stop for a couple of these babies.

:thumbsup2

Really Disney? Five minutes?
That's twice in one day!
This just will not do at all.

I don't know how you luck out so well with buses!

She played a game or two and was quickly out of credits.
I loped back up to the room to get some cash to buy some more.
(So in that respect, Disney's plan to get us spending more money
worked like a charm.)

That's exactly how they want it to work.

"Dad, is there anything you want to play?"
Well, I'll be darned.

If you've been around as long (or longer) than I have
you might be familiar with a game called Galaga.
It used to be one of my favourite games.
This is back when dinosaurs roamed the arcades,
you understand.

Mine was Tempest. Another one that has gone on into the halls of oblivion

So... a win/win evening excursion.

:thumbsup2

Hope you enjoyed the tour.

Amazing photos! It looks like no one else was staying there! I'm sure that wasn't the case. So tell me, are those long exposure photos or are you just using a wide aperture and high ISO? My friends are into long exposure photos and I've started to experiment with them at Disney, but haven't had a lot of chances (1 on the last trip).

Awwww... the little peanut was worried about me.
Or maybe she was worried how she'd get home without me.
Probably the latter.

:rotfl2: Of course she was worried about you, who wouldn't be????

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

I'm going to say AM, you can't have ANOTHER PM day at Disney. We're DVC members and even I can't handle that!

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

I'm going to go against the grain and go out on a limb and say Rose & Crown.

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

Mexico's, It's a Small World, Donald ride.

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

I'm gonna guess Soain'

And you only use 2 of the FPs because while you do get out in the AM, it's not as AM you hoped.

And Merry Christmas!

"You know what I'd really like." She says.
"Is to go to Hawaii."

I was stunned. I hadn't considered that.
"Well, I can certainly look at that." I replied.

I did. And it didn't look good.
"Can you take a couple of days off?" I ask.
"We could leave on Thursday and come back Monday."

"For this. I'll just tell them I'm going."
She matter-of-factly states.

Wow, I think I'd like Ruby. She dreams big, lets someone else do all the legwork, coolly assesses the relative value of work vs. extra time in frakkin' MAUI, and makes it happen. My kinda gal for sure. :thumbsup2

I can foresee no possible way even the shortest of trips to Hawaii in winter could be anything less than perfect, particularly coming from the Great Frozen North like you are. Our weather in NY (and all the rest of the Northeast) has been so unseasonably warm and snowfree that it might very well be good beach weather here in February as well! I did see some pics of surfers on Rockaway Beach (Long Island) on Christmas morning, and they were complaining that their wetsuits were TOO WARM. Gracias, El Nino!

I can only assume that Disney noticed
the most convenient Monorail was fairly full,
so they got it out of the way for us.
So we could have seats, naturally.

Clearly your personal transit concierge noticed that Kay's feet were about to start hurting and did not want to take a chance that she might have to stand up all the way to Epcot. They're good like that, especially if you tip them. The hard part is trying to spot them so you can slip them a few bills. You can't give gratuities to the bus drivers (or boat or monorail pilots) because they know nothing about the VIP program. Or about anything else having anything to do with Disney, come to think of it!

I did not... repeat NOT, touch the cooking surface with my finger.
(I'm curious. Let me know if you get (or don't get) that reference.
Bonus points whether you do or don't get it. I just wanna know.)

Hard to prove because I only posted on a few of Nebo's trip reports (I was usually an entire trip behind!), but I faithfully read them all. In fact, it was Nebo's TRs that caused me to start reading yours. You were the one consistent poster who made me laugh as hard as Nebo did--you were a team made in comedy heaven!! I see Squidgy posting here and there, but I guess Nebo's officially retired now, huh? How is he doing? I miss the big guy. But I would never go to a hibachi restaurant with him because no doubt he'd set himself on fire and I'd reach for my water glass but instead pick up the sake, pour it on him, and we'd both go up in smoke! :furious:

After waking up from our sugar comas...
and don't you just love Disney?
While we were laying there unconscious and gently twitching,
no one came and stole our Magic Bands!
I thought we'd been sprinkled with pixie dust,
but it turned out to be just sugar.

Only in Disney theme parks... If this happened at almost any other vacation destination you could expect to wake up in another continent minus a kidney or two. Your wallet, credit cards, electronic devices, and yes, Magic Bands, would also be missing. And the villains would probably be really mad at you because those plastic bracelets were not Fitbits after all! :scared1:

There was an old-school video game sitting in the corner.
Un-used and sneered at by the younger generation.
If you've been around as long (or longer) than I have
you might be familiar with a game called Galaga.
It used to be one of my favourite games.
This is back when dinosaurs roamed the arcades,
you understand.

I remember it well. The dinosaurs were much better at Pac-Man than I was.

So without any further blather from yours truly,
here are some of the shots I took around Pop.
Hope you enjoy!

I did enjoy them! We've stayed at Pop several times and I always loved the fun, playful atmosphere. I think my last time there was before 2001. I have pics of the sister resort they started to build then put on the back burner during the dramatic drop in tourism after 9/11. I was so happy when they finally revamped their plans and built Art of Animation, at least until the one time I actually stayed in the Little Mermaid section. I had no idea when I booked it that it was approximately 217 miles from the front of the resort where important things like the food court and the bus stops were. One night we returned from the park on a Pop bus, had dinner at their food court, then walked across the bridge to Little Mermaid. It turned out to be a much shorter trip! And bringing this back to your report and Kay's sore feet, I recommend you keep her far away from the Little Mermaid rooms on future vacations. My feet never hurt as much as they did on that trip.

DizzneyDi - 4, Teppan Edo, cronut, ice cream, TT, Alice - 15 points (high score!)

High score!! Yay me!! I rock!!!I even roll!!!! :rockband:

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

Early PM.

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

Gotta go with the popular choice, Via Napoli!

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

Hmmm. Imagination? That's about as far outside the box as you can get, assuming the box contains all the GOOD rides! :rotfl2:No, wait, gonna say Nemo because I don't think you've mentioned it yet. (Says the person whose mind is made of Swiss cheese...)

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

Test Track. (Nobody ever picks the Land for their Tier one FP, right? I mean, I like to look at plants as next as the next person, but the thrill factor is pretty low.) And I think your late start maybe causes you to miss a couple of earlier FPs so I'll say 1.

This will be the last update until the New Year.
I might write it during the Holidays, I might not.
But I won't post it until 2016.

But, but, that's NEXT YEAR!!

Oh, wait, that's also next week. Acceptable.

Hope you and your family and all of your crazy fans (of which I am one!) have joyous, magical--and SAFE--holidays!!pixiedust:

OMG, I can't believe I called Smidgy Squidgy in my last post!! I apologize to her if she's reading this. The weird part is that I realized I did it while reading an article about the next Bridget Jones movie in which the character was referred to as squidgy. Light bulbs went off, I came back to check, and sure enough, I'm an idiot. But you all knew that already, right???

First off:

If it's not to much trouble (really, it's probably not) can you tell me, either by PM or here, the settings on your camera for your night shots? Those are my worst weak spot! I KNOW I need a tripod (which I'll bring!), but I can never seem to get the right triad. You already KNOW how incredibly awesome, amazing, and altruistic you are (that should be worth about 6 flattery points, plus one more for alliteration), and I"m not sure if you could get anymore so, but if you shared a small portion of your photographic prowess, I'd be utterly grateful AND you'd be astonishing and doing me a favor.

Nextly,

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

I think Kay is starting to burn out a bit. I'll say AM, but it's cutting it close. AM, but barely.

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

VN

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

Circle of Life

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

a) Soarin'
b) 2

Can't. Deal was with WestJet and they tell me to go via Vancouver.

Otherwise...

poop. I've met DISsers before at PDX. Had some pretty good times.... wrong bathrooms and such.

Saw some of those shots you posted.
Oh, and was there something else I wanted to comment on?
Hmmmm...
Oh. Right.

I HAD NO FREAKING IDEA THE SPRUCE GOOSE WAS STILL AROUND!!!!
I just assumed it had been dismantled long, long ago.

Well now you've given me three very good reasons to visit Oregon!

Yep! It's in a VERY cool museum called Evergreen. The cool part? They have an indoor water park where the slide comes shooting out of a 747! Sweet, eh?

The Gorge is something to behold. Trust me, plenty of great reasons to visit!

Okay. That makes it 2 for 6.

That average would not be passing.

That's what gums and dentures are for!

Well, those, and mechanical soft diets.

Yeah, because if you're tired, a houseful of kinfolk is just what you need!

It's been a houseful of kinfolk since Monday, and then friends all day today. I need a hibernation chamber.

Seems logical.

:confused3 Not a clue sorry.

On my solo trip in February,
I bought some and was a little disappointed.
It wasn't anywhere near as good as Matsumoto's in Oahu.
Good, but granular as opposed to shaved.
And no ice cream at the bottom.
Good to know. DH was born and raised on Oahu so his standards for Shaved ice are rather high.

Do you think I'm nuts?
:rolleyes1:P

Yeah.... no.
Apparently 100 credits is like a couple of tokens.
And only the most boring games take just one token.
Anything that you might want to play takes three or four.

She played a game or two and was quickly out of credits.
Well boo!

I thought you guys might like to see what Pop looks like.
::yes::::yes::::yes:: helping me look forward to March.

acefulskinny - 10, Teppan Edo, American Dream, school bread, TT, Mary Poppins - 5 points

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?
PM its the end of the trip afterall. I'm sure she'll be lagging a bit.

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)
:scratchin Via Napoli

The Land

Soarin, 1

Disney will be receiving a very sternly worded letter.
Let me assure you! :snooty:

What's a letter?

We approached the Standby entrance to SE,
which was empty.
There were about 20 people in line
to get their bands scanned at the FP entrance.
We passed them all.
It's fairly rare to walk past people waiting to ride...
in the Standby line.
Don't worry, I held my nose up high.

So you rode Spaceship Earth instead of Test Track. Again. That's twice now I've guessed Test Track when the answer was Spaceship Earth. Did you pick a fun future at least? Also if you have to ride this much more you could choose one of the other languages for the soundtrack and try to guess what they're saying. Makes it more interesting!

Kay's feet were starting to bother her,

It's because she wasn't wearing high heels.

We took out our various electronica
and I perused the DIS while Kay
looked at whatever teen girls look at.

Teen boys

We exited our little oasis, climbed a flight of stairs
and checked in at Teppan Edo for our ADR.
(Hmmm... 17 of you just went "D'oh!"

No, D'oh doesn't even begin to describe what I said. I can't repeat it here or they'll close your thread.

What are the odds!?!?

1 in 15000 I think.

I did not... repeat NOT, touch the cooking surface with my finger.
(I'm curious. Let me know if you get (or don't get) that reference.
Bonus points whether you do or don't get it. I just wanna know.)

I don't get the reference. Who is Nebo and why is he famous? I do however understand the urge to touch the hot surface just to see if it really is hot. One time my mom plugged in the iron and said "this isn't working". My dad walked over and touched it and agreed. Then my sister and I did the same thing. My husband wondered how my whole genetic line hadn't been eliminated by natural selection.

I had the Filet Mignon while Kay had the scallops.

mmmm.... scallops... drool. She's smart.

Nine of you celebrating.

I threw a small party in honour of the occasion. I asked all the guests to come dressed as Alice. One girl wasn't very bright and showed up as Ariel instead.

After our quick run in with Alice

You didn't take a picture with her????

After waking up from our sugar comas...
and don't you just love Disney?
While we were laying there unconscious and gently twitching,
no one came and stole our Magic Bands!

Did you have any new tattoos or piercings? Maybe you woke up in women's clothing?

I was more than happy to go down to the arcade with her.
100 credits! We'd be able to play every game and spend
a couple of hours there!

Haaa!! Nothing is free at Disney

There was an old-school video game sitting in the corner.
Un-used and sneered at by the younger generation.
If you've been around as long (or longer) than I have
you might be familiar with a game called Galaga.

I remember the name but not the game. My friend's dad owned a bunch of arcade games and that was one of them.

"If you need me, just send me an email."

What's an email?

So without any further blather from yours truly,
here are some of the shots I took around Pop.
Hope you enjoy!

Love them!!

"Yeah." She said. "But you were gone for an hour!"

Awwww... the little peanut was worried about me.
Or maybe she was worried how she'd get home without me.
Probably the latter.

Of course she missed you, you were gone for a whole hour. She's a smart girl and could have figured out how to get home on her own.

Saturn23 - 4 points for HM den. 2 points for sparkly flats.

I think I have a picture I took in the haunted mansion store of a painting you can use for your haunted mansion den. I don't have access to it at the moment though... I'll have to remember to post it later.

Saturn23 – 135 points

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! Did I mention this is the BEST contest EVER??????

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

It has to be AM

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

I'm guessing since you say third time is a charm it's Via Napoli

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

Imagination

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

Test Track. It HAS to be this time!!
2 fast passes.

I encourage cheating and eye gouging.

Excellent! Hopefully I won't have to resort to that but it's good to know.

I mostly ... look for missing aircraft.

I see, you're like Mulder from the X-Files.... Do many of them go missing?

Ummm..... Shhh.... Don't tell anyone!

I'll keep your secret!

Never steal a man's toys.
Not unless you want him to cry.

I'll keep this in mind in case I ever need to make a man cry.

Shouldn't that be "fortunately"?

You mean you aren't drawn to the dark side, even a little???

We just saw Star Wars again in UltraAVX D-Box (the seats move, it was like riding Star Tours for 2 hours but in a good way!).

Oh yeah, Merry (belated) Christmas!! Hope you had fun!!!

Well I guess that's pretty good too. I would like to hear those words as well.

Who wouldn't!!

No kidding. Not to mention beds, but they probably might want to eat over those three days.

Wait... They eat????

And at this point, I would be freaking out. Either that or pulling the cha-ching lever.

I fear that it might be the latter.

You really should invest in the VIP bus package.

I fell asleep waiting for a bus at 4PM on our trip and you complain about 5 minutes. :faint:

On our trip the wait time was 30 minutes.

If the wait time for SE is 30 minutes, I go do something else.

How do we know that isn't an eight foot turtle? :rolleyes1

DSC09670_zpsevllyket.jpg

Hmmm.... there's not much scale there either, is there.

Okay. It's an eight foot turtle.

But was it the same town? Plenty of people from New Jersey go to WDW.

I don't know. Let's go with... sure.

Okay. That's 2 for 9 now.

Is she an athlete?

Is... she... an... :lmao:
Wait. Do you consider being a professional couch potato an athlete?

When I was her age my favorite meal was egg noodles, Stove Top Stuffing and Heinz Turkey Gravy. But I was carb stacking for swimming.

Yep. She's carb stacking. Yup.

I didn't even know that they served a dish of vanilla ice cream for dessert. I guess that is part of the dining plan.

Yeah. Dessert was included.
Otherwise we wouldn't have bothered.

Never had it.

Go to Matsumoto's on the North Shore of Oahu and try it.

I don't know how you luck out so well with buses!

I told you! VIP bus package!

That's exactly how they want it to work.

Yup. No kidding.
It was an obvious ploy, but Kay was happy, so...

Mine was Tempest. Another one that has gone on into the halls of oblivion

I remember it but was never very good at it.

There were people around and sometimes I'd have to wait for a bit to get a shot.
They're all long exposures.
(and by long, it could be as short as a second or so. Or as long as a minute.)
I find that you get too much noise (at least with my camera) at too high ISOs.

:rotfl2: Of course she was worried about you, who wouldn't be????

You're right. I'm very miss-able you know.
Which will come in handy if someone tries to aim
a rubber band at my head.

I'm going to say AM, you can't have ANOTHER PM day at Disney. We're DVC members and even I can't handle that!

I'm going to go against the grain and go out on a limb and say Rose & Crown.

Mexico's, It's a Small World, Donald ride.

I hope everyone here had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was loud food filled love filled and amazing. So fun having little ones again in house for my Canadian friends I want to wish you a Happy Boxing Day

th

Thanks Betsey! I spent Boxing Day doing.... pretty much nothing.
And it was awesome.
Glad to hear you had a good Christmas, we did as well!

I'm going to go against the grain and go out on a limb and say Rose & Cro

OK I'm going to change my mind. No noodles at Rose and Crown so I'm going to go with the crowd and say Via Napoli.

Wait... They eat????

:rotfl2: it was you who said that you make a plate of cookies and go to work and somehow they magically disappear. I doubt little elves are eating them!

You really should invest in the VIP bus package.

I don't think it's available to DVC members because if there is something we could buy to "plus" our experience, we would pay for it!

Go to Matsumoto's on the North Shore of Oahu and try it.

See original comment about how I would like to hear my spouse say, "I'd like to go to Hawaii" :sad2:

They're all long exposures.
(and by long, it could be as short as a second or so. Or as long as a minute.)
I find that you get too much noise (at least with my camera) at too high ISOs.

Good point. I'm thinking that's what's going on with my photos as well and trying to stay away from 12800.

Wow, I think I'd like Ruby. She dreams big, lets someone else do all the legwork, coolly assesses the relative value of work vs. extra time in frakkin' MAUI, and makes it happen. My kinda gal for sure. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I actually read this aloud to her.
Put a smile on her face! :goodvibes

I can foresee no possible way even the shortest of trips to Hawaii in winter could be anything less than perfect, particularly coming from the Great Frozen North like you are.

That's the way I see it.
Last February was the first time I've been south
in the winter since I was a kid.
OMG. It felt so good not to have to dress
like you were exploring the moon,
just to go outside.
WDW was almost just a fringe benefit!

Too warm???? :faint:
I wonder if that's ever happened before?

Clearly your personal transit concierge noticed that Kay's feet were about to start hurting and did not want to take a chance that she might have to stand up all the way to Epcot.

Funny you should say that... :rolleyes1

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

They're good like that, especially if you tip them. The hard part is trying to spot them so you can slip them a few bills. You can't give gratuities to the bus drivers (or boat or monorail pilots) because they know nothing about the VIP program. Or about anything else having anything to do with Disney, come to think of it!

Ahem.
I believe the bus drivers are a fount of Disney knowledge.

It may not be accurate or correct knowledge,
but you can't have everything.

Hard to prove because I only posted on a few of Nebo's trip reports (I was usually an entire trip behind!), but I faithfully read them all.

Ah. Another Neboite! That makes it 3 for 10

In fact, it was Nebo's TRs that caused me to start reading yours.

Interesting that you should say that, too..
And once again, I'm getting ahead of myself.

You were the one consistent poster who made me laugh as hard as Nebo did--you were a team made in comedy heaven!!

We sure had a lot of fun!
And thanks for saying that! :)

I see Squidgy posting here and there

Squidgy? Who is this Squidgy you speak of?

(And I wouldn't be bugging you about it
if you hadn't posted her real name later!)

but I guess Nebo's officially retired now, huh?

I talked to him about a month ago.
He hasn't touched the computer in about a year and a half.

How is he doing? I miss the big guy.

Not great.
Eyes aren't great as you know.
You may remember that he hurt his wrist.
It's still bothering him and is probably the main reason
why he's not on anymore.
No fun typing with just one hand.
Plus he just had back surgery which he said was very painful.
So all in all... I don't think he's having a lot of fun.

But I would never go to a hibachi restaurant with him because no doubt he'd set himself on fire and I'd reach for my water glass but instead pick up the sake, pour it on him, and we'd both go up in smoke! :furious:

:lmao: But think of how great the TR would be!

:scared1:

And then they'd come back and demand you go buy some Fitbits for them
to make up for their pain and suffering!

I remember it well. The dinosaurs were much better at Pac-Man than I was.

And me. I was okay at Pac-Man but there were those people
who could run the board without trying.

I did enjoy them!

Thanks! :)

We've stayed at Pop several times and I always loved the fun, playful atmosphere. I think my last time there was before 2001. I have pics of the sister resort they started to build then put on the back burner during the dramatic drop in tourism after 9/11.

Oh, really? Interesting.
How'd you take them? From the bridge?

I was so happy when they finally revamped their plans and built Art of Animation, at least until the one time I actually stayed in the Little Mermaid section. I had no idea when I booked it that it was approximately 217 miles from the front of the resort where important things like the food court and the bus stops were.

Been there, done that... at ASMu.
Never again.

One night we returned from the park on a Pop bus, had dinner at their food court, then walked across the bridge to Little Mermaid. It turned out to be a much shorter trip!

So did you do that from then on?

And bringing this back to your report and Kay's sore feet, I recommend you keep her far away from the Little Mermaid rooms on future vacations. My feet never hurt as much as they did on that trip.

Thanks for the heads up.
But that was why I booked pool view.
There was no way I was going to be traipsing back and forth.
And considering that heat??? :faint:

High score!! Yay me!! I rock!!!I even roll!!!! :rockband:

You do! You really do!

Early PM.

Gotta go with the popular choice, Via Napoli!

Hmmm. Imagination? That's about as far outside the box as you can get, assuming the box contains all the GOOD rides! :rotfl2:No, wait, gonna say Nemo because I don't think you've mentioned it yet. (Says the person whose mind is made of Swiss cheese...)

Test Track. (Nobody ever picks the Land for their Tier one FP, right? I mean, I like to look at plants as next as the next person, but the thrill factor is pretty low.) And I think your late start maybe causes you to miss a couple of earlier FPs so I'll say 1.

Noted.

But, but, that's NEXT YEAR!!

Oh, wait, that's also next week. Acceptable.

See? Not so bad.

Plus I'd like to be done before we leave for Hawaii.

Hope you and your family and all of your crazy fans (of which I am one!) have joyous, magical--and SAFE--holidays!!pixiedust:

We did! Hope you did too! :goodvibes

OMG, I can't believe I called Smidgy Squidgy in my last post!! I apologize to her if she's reading this. The weird part is that I realized I did it while reading an article about the next Bridget Jones movie in which the character was referred to as squidgy.

Funny thing is, I don't know if I would've even noticed.
The first time I read your comment, I didn't catch it.
I might have this time, but we'll never know, will we?

But this way, I get to tease you about it.

Light bulbs went off, I came back to check, and sure enough, I'm an idiot. But you all knew that already, right???

I would never call one of my readers an idiot.

Well, maybe I'll make an exception...

:rolleyes2

If it's not to much trouble (really, it's probably not)

Oh, you think so, huh?
Excuse me while I trudge back upstairs to get the laptop...
Hope it'll turn on, since it hasn't been on for over a week.
Ever since it crashed hard, I've been nervous every time I use it.
Trudge back downstairs with it...
Okay... looks like it's turning on all right.

either by PM or here, the settings on your camera for your night shots?

Well, they vary of course.

Let's see...
This one for example was 15 seconds at f11, ISO 100 at 13mm.
(I like to keep the ISO low to avoid grain/noise.)

While this one was 2 seconds at f8, ISO 100 at 18mm.

Those are my worst weak spot! I KNOW I need a tripod (which I'll bring!),

::yes:: That's the biggest thing.
But I got away with some shots at POR a few years ago
by propping a P/S on fence posts and whatnot.

You already KNOW how incredibly awesome, amazing, and altruistic you are (that should be worth about 6 flattery points, plus one more for alliteration)

It would've been worth 6, but I'll have to deduct for saying it's worth 6.

and I"m not sure if you could get anymore so, but if you shared a small portion of your photographic prowess, I'd be utterly grateful AND you'd be astonishing and doing me a favor.

Favour granted.

Is that like Netflix?

Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

a) Soarin'
b) 2

Noted.

poop. I've met DISsers before at PDX. Had some pretty good times.... wrong bathrooms and such.

:sad2:
I'll pass on the bathroom screaming meets, thanks.

Yep! It's in a VERY cool museum called Evergreen. The cool part? They have an indoor water park where the slide comes shooting out of a 747! Sweet, eh?

Cool! Reason #4...

The Gorge is something to behold. Trust me, plenty of great reasons to visit!

... and reason #5.

That average would not be passing.

 No. No it wouldn't.
And I assume your answer makes it 3 for 11

Well, those, and mechanical soft diets.

Kay does those every time she goes in for a braces adjustment.
Her teeth hurt enough that she can't chew.
That and her teeth don't actually meet to even let her chew.
Plenty of Booster Juice visits ensue.
(That's a smoothie place similar to Jamba Juice)

It's been a houseful of kinfolk since Monday, and then friends all day today. I need a hibernation chamber.

Take 5 minutes on me.

:confused3 Not a clue sorry.

Okay. That makes it 3 for 12.
Interesting. I thought it'd be closer than that...

Good to know. DH was born and raised on Oahu so his standards for Shaved ice are rather high.

I would think so!
We drove up to the North Shore just for Matsumoto's once.

Well boo!

No kidding! I should've known.

::yes::::yes::::yes:: helping me look forward to March.

Just for you guys.

PM its the end of the trip afterall. I'm sure she'll be lagging a bit.

:scratchin Via Napoli
